Here's the thing about the concussion protocols put into place by the NCAA.
I'm asking (because I don't know) if any neutral official like the medical observers have ever removed a player from a game to check for concussion without the team's consent?
It's all well and good to have such observers on site for the games and having the ability to make independent observations. But has that ability ever been exercised?
The legal standard for negligence does not automatically allow Butch to hide behind a lack of actual knowledge. As the head coach, should he have known that something was wrong? And was the team policy designed to shift responsibility onto players to essentially self-diagnose and self-report? While the coaches emphasize an "unspoken" rule of NOT self-reporting?
I think Butch has put the University into a very very dangerous position if the answers are in the affirmative.
If this is true then this is a no brainer theoretically. I assume it was posted/stated by someone we would likely trust?
Also, at some point early in the first or second Gruden thread someone mentioned Gruden and Currie were "friends", so if true, then once again theoretically, should be a no brainer. Anyone confirm?
This is true. Neither side will want to blame the other if Gruden doesn't happen. It will be one of those "We never seriously considered Coach Gruden".
