Somebody please correct me if my memory is lacking. But I recall that in order to get Saban hired at Alabama, they had to get Bryant, Jr. out of the way. Similar situation at UT with Haslam.

So, in essence, Currie is Haslam, Davenport is Haslam. It appears that the rest of the boosters have mounted up, loaded up, and are ready to giddy up in order to change/end the Haslam paradigm at UT.

While all of mine is "speculation"....I have nothing on Davenport. That one is out of my realm or knowledge. I don't know how that is selected or how that position is influenced. So those definitely can't be my words...lol.

I edited my previous post because the boosters of grown tired of Haslam and they want UT to move away from “the Haslam model.”

Unfortunately the "Haslam model" is also typical government good ole boy model...

It would mean complete culture change in the heart of the culture.

I know a lot of this thread is tongue in cheek, but do we seriously have fans who think Jones knew for a fact that BK had a concussion, and then made the decision to play him anyway?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I think the problem is that Butch Jones runs such a s*** show on the sidelines, that a player that can't even find the huddle goes completely overlooked for over half a football game. That is just as dangerous as a him knowing the kid was concussed.

The only thing that worries me with this Gruden deal is related to the AD hiring and how that went down. That is one of the reasons I've had my reservations buying fully into Beaver's scenario. I'm not saying he's not connected and could be fully right...it would just surprise me if that booster front could have recovered so quickly.

A lot of powerful people were embarrassed in 2012 and are undoubtedly holding a grudge.

The ones that let it go eventually were kicked in the teeth again with the AD hiring.
Someone has pulled them all together for a purpose.

Morning!

Don’t know if today’s the day for Gruden, but tonight is the night for Call of Duty: WWIII!!

PS4 is ready for download at the witching hour. 😊

Ahh the good ol days. I remember those days before kids, soccer, basketball, drama, piano lessons, work, etc. Feels like it was just a dream now.

There are several things that should be stickied for those reading the Gruden threads: Anyone know how to do this?

  • How to post a GIF
  • Which Haslam is which
  • Why Gruden would be a good coach for UT
  • How to properly quote someone.
  • Who are the insiders

What else?

Jones cares too much about his image to parlay another job to knowingly play a concussed player. If he was all about the pressure to win the UK game he would have allowed JK to play. Concussions are not easily identifiable until they are obvious. Define obvious- but I think Wells knew and kept it to himself.

I don't think anyone is taking such things as tongue in cheek. However...

If Jones did know, he needs to be out.

If Wells knew and didn't tell Jones, the immediate release of that medical staff and Wells needs to happen today.

If the second is the case, Jones needs to take responsibility, sack up and can the lot of them. It goes a long way in the public perception if that happens.

Sentence 1: spot on.
Sentence 2: spot on.
Sentence 3: I hope you're right.

With an SEC official on the sideline it (playing a player after failing concussion protocol) is taken out of the coach's hands.

I think people are looking for anything to use against Butch.
