do you have a good source?

Just using common sense, now I know some at UT might be lacking, but they aren't stupid enough to do that. That kind of move would cut off the hand that feeds them for good.Good grief if they want to lose a ton a revenue that would be a sure fire way to do it. No way, I have no source but I don't think I need one. SOON!!!! GBO!!!! GET IT DONE!

If it’s true Tatum has left team especially on heels of Davis resigning today from his position, apparently they must see writing in sand Currie is going to ride or die with Butch. We will have to listen to all cliches of how this year was an abnormal and next year we will be back with Butch at the helm. Longer this thing plays out as bad as I hate to say it but Jimmy Hyams and other media folks reporting Butch ain’t going anywhere they have proven to be right so far

There is much that is not clear in this whole situation. But you can be sure of one thing: Butch will not be the coach next year. He has quit recruiting. If there was even a CHANCE he was coming back, they wouldn't be canceling recruit visits.

Dave is looking like "I have to get out of town before the fraud riding shotgun reveals himself".

Butch is looking like "I am about to teach these people the meaning of resiliency!"

Hart's look is the look of a man who got turned down by several others.

My second thought after that was, "Why is the AD driving? Can the university not afford a driver?"

UT is really so amateurish and low rent.

I’m trying to stay confident. And I do think with no recruiting going on has to play into it

and this kinda crap is useless and dumb ass hell.

might as well poison the trees..this mentality is just stupid

Issa joke.... Tuck your shirt back in.

We all know that wouldn’t fire Butch anyways.

Currie would just dump them down the toilet and tell Butch to go stay at his mothers and not answer the phone for a few days until it all blows over...

It seems to me he has another choice: 1) put CWW on Admin Suspension until investigation is complete. 2) privately let the Kendricks know that UT and CBJ have agreed to part ways; then announce it publically within a few hours of that conversation- pay the negotiated buy-out and end it tomorrow. CBJ can say that, as much as he loves Tennessee and his players, it’s best for them if he steps aside. I think if the conversation with the family and the announcement are handled properly, all can move forward.

Edit: of course, I don’t know the family and can’t guess what their needs are at this point

I’m quoting myself! Pretty silly but I wanted to add regarding the interim coach - Currie need to get all those coaches in a room and have a “come to Jesus” with them. This is about the players, not about their infighting. That’s what they need to focus on.

Exactly no coach quits recruiting in October and official visits are being cancelled. NO COACH is coming back under that scenario, NONE! SOON!!!!!!!

you’re not serious?? A damn Kia??? (Not that there’s anything wrong with that)

Rolled up in a KIA. Rolling out in one of these. I'd say Butch got more than he deserved for both trips.

I wonder if he's ever listened to a playback of his comments and lexicon. He speaks in a language that is just not natural for any profession. It's like having a perpetual case of diarrhea and no baby powder.... it stinks and rubs your ass raw!

meanwhile, over at the factory of sadness

Profootballtalk.com reports Browns co-owner Dee Haslam went "nuclear" on the team's front office after it nixed Tuesday's failed A.J. McCarron trade.
Based on a collection of national and local reports on the topic, it appears as if Browns ownership has taken the side of Hue Jackson over the front office. Jackson spent time with McCarron in Cincinnati and was the driving force behind Tuesday's trade talks. Multiple reports also indicate the front office -- known to be at odds with Jackson -- was the driving force behind the trade not going through. Ownership will ultimately decide the front office's fate. At present, it's not looking good for Sashi Brown, Paul DePodesta, and company. Jackson appears to have won the power struggle, for better or (more likely) worse

Battered Vol Syndrome: #BVS. (Think PTSD for vol football fans.)

We have seen the worst, and we don’t think it will get better. Fear not preach, the white whale will save us. Gruden is coming.

I'm guessing probably not. If he did, it's like listening to a recording of your own voice. "Do I really sound like that?!"

Several of you posters had some great answers. I will have to buy a fine bottle of scotch and do a tasting with 4-5 of you at one of the home games next year. I will post the exact answer that I had for the game theory payoff once Butch has been formally fired. I do not want to give the competitors insight into how they should be thinking about it. If you answered then DM me on Twitter and we can pick a game as a group.

After further review..Butch should resign. He has done collateral damage to the University's reputation and the financial impact would require a PHD to figure out, if he's found to be liable. I'll stck with rearrange the staff, Gruden announced as HC for 2018. Butch takes the fall with grace, UT saves it's rep, narrative immediately shifts to Gruden hire and the forming of staff. Fans immediately understand it's a lost season, players have a huge weight off their shoulders and something to rally around if the right interim is put in place and the staff fired and promoted properly, recruiting is a juggernaut with the announcement of Gruden before signing day....

To all the "insiders" that showed up. Good luck on your theories. I'm off to bed.

Who is paying Butch's buyout since Currie seems hell bent on saving a few bucks to hang onto Butch this season? If boosters are paying it, why does Currie care? The image of UT has taken a massive hit since the GA loss and now an even worse turn with Kendrick. Not worth all of this to save a couple million dollars.
