Well first off, we ran pro sets when I was on the hill. And for arguments sake, had damn good success at it. And most pro teams DO NOT run spread schemes. Well maybe when Chip was in the league, but Defenses figured him out. Now, do they run 5-8 plays that incorporate spread philosophies, yeah but it's more single, I formations, with Strong and weak sets, and Gun looks.
And evolving into something else, doesn't always translate into success. Just ask Kelly. It works for a little bit and then NFL Defenses catch up. Pro sets will always be used more than anything, especially the gimmick offenses that you see in HS and College.
