I wonder if butch will retain Shoop for next year or if perhaps he just isn't a good fit here. Maybe Butch will go reach out to someone else. Of course, would be tough to change staffs, but with Frost going to Florida we will need a good defense to try and slow down his offense. Hopefully Butch either backs off and lets Shoop coach or he'll hire someone who is a better fit.

Dang dude. Do you honestly believe Butch is still here next year?

I've always maintained that I would have fired him long ago. I'm also aware that I can be a hot-headed redneck.

It was more of a joke than anything though man. I'm worried about the hire. This season is lost and it has been. Firing CBJ wasn't going to save it.

That said, I think now the cloud around him has gotten to the point that we need to remove him Sunday/Monday. Win or lose. It's time.

I think I got you confused with Hank. My bad. I just won't feel comfortable until the announcement is made. I have no reason to trust the UT AD nor John Currie. They haven't given me a reason to trust them. So until they do, I'm just going to assume business as usual and that they either are trying to let Butch give them a reason to retain them, or they're just screwing up this whole process. Regardless, Currie is looking really bad right now and not just on a local level. He's a joke nationally as well. He better hope he can redeem himself or UT fans will turn on him quick. Some, like me, already have.

To think the backup QB won’t be needed for more than one play with four games remaining, including two against physical SEC defenses in LSU and Vandy? THAT would be stupid.

Doesn't hurt to try. You get him ready to play but don't put him in UNTIL JG is hurt not for a loose chin strap.

You seem to have a knack for causing people to threaten you with E-violence lol

Remember, the Board of Trustees were already scheduled to meet tomorrow and Butch's future was very likely on the agenda. Some have surmised they would've given the go ahead to Currie to terminate Butch's contract at his discretion.

With the new concussion report, I would find it very likely they go a step farther and vote to terminate immediately.

I think I saw that the BOT meeting would be webcast... might have to find that link... lol

Yeah I’m gonna need that link if you find it :hi:

My goodness have we really come to this?

I was surprised that the BOT meetings were webcast. I was really just kidding until Nash_Vol97 said he was interested. I thought it might be worth googling. I posted it.

If it really is Butch's policy that players must take themselves off the field and/or report themselves to trainers for injuries/concussions, then yeah, I think it has come to this...

It seems like Kendrick's parents are not happy, and maybe a lot of parents are unhappy. Reference JG's mom petitioning for UT to retain Antone Davis.

Seems like things are about to go down.

No I think you are thinking of me. I've defended the decision to keep him on board as long as possible/as long as the UTAD saw fit. I don't think there's been much benefit if any to firing him in October.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that he wasn't coming back. It just wasn't in the cards. Once I got to that place, it was easy to give up on this season being salvaged and I didn't care that he was finishing out.

Maybe the route they will go is to let him finish out the season but announce that he isn't coming back. Like they did with Fulmer.

This is what I meant the other day when I said a great hire doesn't moot Currie's botching of our coahcing transition up this point.

You're seeing tangible damage being done to the program and the university.
