He’s the head coach. He manages the team. He should have been able to tell that kendrick wasn’t right. There’s video of him during the game showing how unstable he was.

Agreed. Only one behavior mentioned anywhere is a clear cut red flag that should have resulted in immediate medical attention was the vomiting

Well duh. I’m assuming people behind the scenes know what happened. However, the evidence seems to quickly be mounting against butch. Kendrick throwing up and not being able to remember the second half (as reported by Hyams) means that he almost certainly had a concussion

"I can tell you this," Jones said, "we would never, ever knowingly put a student-athlete in harm's way. Our medical staff has full authority in removing players from competition, but also in the 'return to play decisions.

"I have no absolutely no say in these decisions. On top of that, the SEC has done a great job placing an independent medical observer in the press box at all games."

then why didn't the SEC official pull the kid? that's all he or she is there to do.

He should be able to tell when one of his players is showing symptoms of a concussion.

This has the video of kendrick wobbling. I would think that while BK was on the sidelines someone would notice what was wrong and report it to butch.

“He is resting in a dark room. He doesn’t remember anything about the second half of the game”. A text received by The Read Optional reads. “They left him in until the last 22 seconds and only pulled him out because he finally threw up on the sideline.”

This quote is particularly sad. At the end of the day this is butch’s team. He played a guy that was concussed. In today’s game that is inexcusable and he should be fired for it. Player safety should be at the forefront of every coach’s mind

Cowardly on his part. He should take ownership but guess what? He never does because he’s not a leader which is why he should never coach big time football again. He doesn’t have what it takes
