I agree. Butch is clear on this one for me.

That part is irrelevant. They're not going to be able to fire him for cause, I guess. But it may apply enough pressure to expedite the process of firing him.

Also, I've seen coaches overrule the team doctors countless times. We don't know that didn't happen here.

False. If the trainer and SEC official signed off on Him playing Butch is clear. The head coach isn't going to know all that goes on on the sideline

I own a company, if one of my employess screws up, it comes back to me. I am culpable for my employees. Butch is culpable for the people on his sideline.

Also, there's been zero confirmation that anyone cleared anybody.

You are 100% false.

You have seen coaches overrule an SEC medial official?

Come on man

You are reading WAY too much into this.

in the past, yes. but most programs put the doctors in charge fully and apparently an SEC official is there to oversee that as well. could the doctors be indirectly pressured to be more lax to avoid upsetting a coach? sure but it can't be direct anymore.

The doctor works independently he is not Butch's employee.

Butch doesn't hire the sec official and I'm not sure about medical staff but policies aren't not governed by Butch. They are governed by UTAD.

Butch and the other coaches are overall responsible for anything that happens regarding the athletes. You don’t think at some point Wells or any other coach couldn’t tell that Kendrick’s was having problems? Read the last part of Curries release one more time:

"We have a constant and consistently communicated expectation that all coaches, staff and student-athletes remain attentive to ensure that any potential injuries are appropriately addressed-with full intentions that student-athlete safety is never compromised."

The medical staff is ultimately to blame, not denying that. But this still ultimately can be put on Butch Jones and the staff. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if Currie used this as for cause for Butch to give up a good chunk of the buyout.

You're kidding yourself if you think the coaches don't overrule the medical staff all the time.

We don't know it happened here but there's a little bit of smoke.

Maybe - but this thing is on thin ice as it is. Anything could tip the balance.

I have never seen a coach take a fall for a concussed player staying in a game and it won't start now. If they are looking to fire with cause and avoid the backlash in the coaching community no way is this the tipping point.

If Kendrick would cleared by the medical staff then that is their issue. Most of the med staff have been here before butch so that’s an AD issue.

Who knows if the SEC official was ever notified of the issue?

They are on the sidelines to monitor situations like this. Come on voly.

**** happens and it doesn't always have to be the head coaches fault or anyone's for that matter. Medical officials are in a tough soot and they miss things
