I could see Currie waiting around to see what A&M is going to do with Sumlin. I'd hire him in a heartbeat if they let him go.

While I would not be upset if Sumlin ended up as our next coach, I would have a huge problem if Currie's plan all along has been "Let's hope A & M fires Sumlin, and then we will pounce." That would be one of worst plans ever.

I am now of the belief that Mullen will not be at Florida. As I have said in the past, I know an MSU family that are alums and been donors for a while. They told me tonight about the podcast that Mullen's wife was recently. She said that she would buy groceries in Orlando and drive them back to Gainesville because she didn't want to face the fans. The fans were upset they didn't score enough points even when they won. She said the MSU fans are so positive and appreciative. This is in addition to Stricklin's roots in Starkville.

Mullen is comfortable at State. He would've left already for UF or PSU, if he ever was. Plus, next year's team is setting up a lot like the 14 team. He's gonna have lots of juniors and seniors in his two deep, and he'll have a 5th year senior QB. They're poised for a run.

Schiano has been scuffed up a bit after proving himself with a good run at Rutgers. Sometimes that works to a guy's advantage after he figures out he's got to do some work personally to improve. If he can keep OSU in the NC hunt with some good D, he becomes a target for somebody. Just not sure that somebody should be us. I can think of at least a half dozen quality coaches I would choose first. I wouldn't get upset about it, but I wouldn't jump in with both feet either.
