I don't necessarily agree with the emptyneyland movement, partly because of the players and partly because I think Jones is not our coach in 2018 regardless of what happens at this point. But I would love to send some similar kind of unified message to the UT admin that if this coaching hire doesn't go well, there will be a lot of empty seats in Neyland for years to come.

Thing I don't get is there are all these plans for new practice fields and Neyland upgrades. There's no point in any of that if we don't make a grand slam homerun hire this go round. Why have all these first rate buildings and facilities with a third rate coach?

Surely Currie knows this.

At this point my minimum standard is a coach that can make his team play with consistent effort and discipline week in and week out. Butch had that in the early years and completely lost it. I have no idea why or how. Dooley never had it.

Schiano would be at the top of tier 2 for me. I have heard that TN would look to go offensive coach thus opposing GA, FL, SC. I just don't to think Strong leaves after a year and I don't think the $$$ men would swallow enough pride to give Strong a second chance to take the job.

To be fair, Nothing that has happened with Ham and Hart relates to Currie. Think about it like this: Currie is 2/2 so far in situations since he’s been here... he brought back the lady Vols 👍🏻 And he not only hired one of the most respected SEC assistants, he also handled the search entirely on his own and was border line ninja about it. 👍🏻

I get the frustration but at least see get mad when something actually happens. If we come out and hire Houston nutt then by all means I’ll scream with you but give it time.

I wish we could put this on a billboards on I-40 from Memphis to Knoxville. Very good post brother!

yep on a 3 to 5 win this year...........I don't mind averaging 9-10 wins because that will get us some 11 and 12 as well. We have averaged way less than that over the last 10 years.

The commissioner would fall over himself to approve chip Kelly to coach in his league. He knows Saban is killing the SEC, Kelly would give someone a chance to compete against him and restore some balance.

Would Saban have to approve the hire?
