I'm content with the assumption that the only reason Butch is still here is because the incoming coach needs time for whatever reason.

Period.

No other reason (if the buyout is there), to not get a jump on the coaching search as early as possible.

There is something wrong behind the scenes IMO. Somebody or something is an obstacle to (1) getting Butch outta there and (2) landing a replacement.

I fear what I heard recently means its not really at the admin level. The reason I am starting to lower my expectations is that to get the Gruden deal will take 1) a whole set of people being on the same side being on the same page or 2) enough people on that same side to put up a strong enough front to step in front of a certain obstacle on their side. I just don’t believe they have either of those as MIT insinuates, so I can see this whole thing getting nuked again.

Thus bringing me to have my own beliefs of what MIT’s motives are (if he isnt a fake troll). I dont think its even to the point of convincing the University yet. Of course, my $.02... not trying to persuade anyone. Actually trying to keep the faith myself. Hawkpilot, are you picking this up?

The facilities and stadium was rumored to be involved trash pick up after games. That’s all they told us but also said more involved. We have been told not say anything about it that some of the bot will be here Wednesday. She has a meeting with each and every board member with many topics. And be done Friday

That's interesting. If they were to outsource facilities management to include the athletic facilities, all decisions from that point forward would lie with the contractor. I wonder if they had a company in mind or were sending it out to bid.

The problem with the whole Gruden to Tennessee is that I could see the egg head liberals that run the Admin side and who carry weight on the BOT could nix the Gruden hire.

But as I type this it brings me back to the fact that private/corp big $$$ boosters pay for many of the building projects for UT academia.

So what I don't understand is why this group of high level donors don't just put their collective feet down upon the neck of the Admin and BOT with the weight of their financial clout and make it happen. Perhaps they dont fully understand their decision making abilities...... zero dollars for buildings vs millions and corporate generosity.

it is actually not that complicated..

I just passed along what I saw. I'm not a troll or trying to be a buzzkill.

I want JG as much as all of you. Take what I posted as you will. It came from Twitter, not some inside source.

I know the blood in the water mentality, it's rabid in here. Just passing along what I saw.

There is absolutely no way Gruden will put up with waiting on all of this. It is either a done deal/very close to done deal or he is out. He is wanted by too many pro teams to wait around and see if Tennessee can get everybody aboard the train.

I hate to say it, but this sounds a lot more like a current coach that has stipulated he intends to finish the current season than Jon Gruden stipulating he intends to finish the MNF season. And not just any coach, but a coach on a team that is going places, and it could hurt his own market value to leave early, so perhaps a coordinator at one of the playoff hopefuls or Scott Frost?

I've heard a few angles about this being related to Gruden's son, but I really just can't see that holding up an EARTH-SHATTERING deal that the University DESPERATELY needs to get done soon. And I can't think of any other reason Gruden would have for holding off. I don't think he'd need to keep mum for ESPN-related issues?

Happy Halloween Grudes,,,,trying to catch up! Leipers Fork is very busy on Halloween...and the blue tick keeps howling....SOON?

IF they went with outsourcing the company was already picked. The state entered a contract with them and the one company is who every university would have had to use.

if there really is this much dissention and chaos in the AD all of these media guys and holier than thou posters can get bent and fall on their own swords. Comepletely absurd.
