Personally I think he's handled it all very well. Would I love to know all that's going on? Sure. Shoot, I'd settle for knowing anything that's going on. But the fact that we don't know is very impressive to me.

None of this should be handled in public simply to satisfy my curiosity and impatience. Which the only purpose it would serve.

And other than my impatience, I have no problem with the fact he hasn't announced, or put in affect, the firing. I see how that has worked at other schools and how it worked with us re Fulmer. No thank you.

Well said. The patience you speak of isn't for the faint of heart.

Condemn...but VERIFY!

Whut?..

How interested do you think Frost really is in the Tennessee job? I think we have a really good shot if Florida goes with Taggart.

I'm sure we have a good chance. But right now we're the second best job on the market. Not that we have to wait for Florida to make a decision, per se, but any coach we're going to target - Frost, Mullen, Campbell - are all hearing from Florida too.

I think I get your dig at me, but it is not a good one. We have over a decade of verifiable and incontrovertible evidence of malfeasance and stupidity regarding the running of UT atletics in general and football in particular...the program is in the crapper.

2nd best job on the market currently... and we’re not even officially on the market.

Waters are about to get even muddier with other programs stomping into the stream. The drop off in quality coaches who may come is steep

It's going to happen quick. And it's very rare a Power 5 coach leaves for another Power 5 job so most of these openings are going to be filled with the very limited number of "up and comers" from G5 programs.

I heard a writer from Gainesville on the radio in Knoxville today and he put it in to perspective for me.

We would all agree Florida is a Top 5 job, right? At the very worst it is Top 10.

Here are their last 4 head coaching hires:
NFL Assistant
Utah HC
Texas DC
Colorado State HC

He'll probably be the prize jewel among the "up and comers" for schools with an opening. Maybe something will go our way for a change.

To be fair, Nothing that has happened with Ham and Hart relates to Currie. Think about it like this: Currie is 2/2 so far in situations since he’s been here... he brought back the lady Vols 👍🏻 And he not only hired one of the most respected SEC assistants, he also handled the search entirely on his own and was border line ninja about it. 👍🏻

I get the frustration but at least see get mad when something actually happens. If we come out and hire Houston nutt then by all means I’ll scream with you but give it time.

I normally don’t have much to add in terms of info about coaches, but a friend of mine had a child visit UT for Baseball recently and he raved about Vitello and his staff. This is coming from a group of anti-UT people.

We absolutely are. All I'm saying is if Frost wants to go to Florida he could agree to it as soon as he wanted.

These "feelers" are a lot more in depth than I think you're letting on.

They can flirt and talk numbers and have everything lined up, but it’s not the asking UCF for permission, formal interview, acceptance and signature. IF he wants to be their HC? They should be able to wrap it up in short order. Nothing stops us from doing the same thing...sitting coach or no. It boils down to who he wants to coach...and that might be neither of us. Florida has no timing advantage by firing Mac.

No doubt. They don't have a timing advantage - we're talking to prospective coaches just as much as Florida is. They have a job advantage.

UCF insiders saying they may close the deal is worrisome.

If he goes to Florida we better hope with everything that's in us that we can get somebody good. He'll have them rolling in short order.

Pisses me off that we automatically take a backseat to Florida for no reasons other than in-state recruiting and recent success. Never mind the fact that UF reportedly has some of the worst facilities in the SEC, and the whole McElwain situation shows how they deal with a coach coming of two straight division titles.

And if in-state recruiting were the be all end all, Texas would have way more national championships than they do and FSU would never be sitting at 2-5 with losses to Louisville, NC State, and Boston College.

What does the board think of Taggart? Helped build two programs and is a bigtime recruiter in the South. I wonder if he would want to leave Oregon after a year however.

Would be rather entertaining for multiple outlets to start reporting Frost to UF over the next 48 hours only to find out later that Tennessee has him wrapped up.

My question would be, realistically speaking, if Frost goes to UF and Mullen stays put, who's the next best option? Campbell's buyout is insane, so maybe Brohm or Morris.

I Would Much rather have Taggart than Frost. WT would be just behind Fuente, Campbell and Mullen for me.
