I get it, but I don't have faith in any UT admin puppet like you do. I have zero reason to. I think Currie is going to trot out Coach McGoogle, and UT football is going to continue being a depressing hurtful enterprise for me. That is what they have done and will continue to do imo, I have absolutely zero reason to believe otherwise. Because he made a baseball hire means nothing to me.

To be fair, Nothing that has happened with Ham and Hart relates to Currie. Think about it like this: Currie is 2/2 so far in situations since he’s been here... he brought back the lady Vols 👍🏻 And he not only hired one of the most respected SEC assistants, he also handled the search entirely on his own and was border line ninja about it. 👍🏻

I get the frustration but at least see get mad when something actually happens. If we come out and hire Houston nutt then by all means I’ll scream with you but give it time.

Predictions are cheap and easy. It sucks, but we've just gotta let it play out and see where we are in December.

I can't say I have much faith that we'll nail this either. But I'm gonna try to let things fal into place before I decide all is lost.

Not that familiar with the letter of the law, but it seems like the statement is getting very close to libel if not true.

Libel is SUPER hard to prove in court. Gotta prove that he knows or believes its false AND has intent to damage the reputation of the person he's defaming.

Edit: So I looked into it more, and I was wrong here intent isn't important. It's proving the damage that took place that is difficult.

I'm thinking both Fulmer and Manning will play a significant role in trying to sell Frost on coming here. I've heard it said that Fulmer is pretty high on him.

I could see UF enlisting Spurrier to assist in “recruiting” Frost.

Rather ironic in that Frost was on the team that man handled both Spurrier and Fulmer’s team on the way to winning national championships.

I'm just not getting blindsided again by this pathetic UT admin. If I get surprised it will be a good one...a kind preventative medicine if you will. I can't take getting sucker punched anymore.

Why do you think that? He could very easily come to an agreement right now. Just wouldn't start until the end of the season.

They can’t even interview him...much less sign him. Feelers to agents is only play now and it’s possible we’re doing that.

I appreciate the explanation.

I totally get that because I'm not getting my hopes up either.

But at the same time I'm trying to give Currie the benefit of the doubt until we can actually see the end result. Admittedly, he's not making it easy lol

The same people that hired Ham and Hart, are the same ones that hired Currie so...it does relate to Currie imo.

Look Hank I hope you're right and will be ecstatic and more than glad to go to the all you can eat crow buffet, but if they trot out some project coach..I'm calling it for what is from the beginning.
No more crap sammiches for me..please feed me crow.

Doesn’t mean they can’t come to an agreement

Technically, they can't.

But it's obvious that coaches/teams do via 3rd parties sometimes. Look at the timing of the Herman hire last year.

But at the same time, LSU had been going after Herman for half the season at that point and Texas sealed the deal with him in under two weeks.

We're just about to start silly season and anything can happen. Frost probably has some people taking inquiries, but I'd be surprised if he shuts things down and makes a decision this soon. Lots of jobs will come open over the next 3-4 weeks.

All that matters in a case with a public figure is proving actual malice, really. If you are a public figure your case is handled differently then a normal libel case. Pretty sure Butch would classify as such. Either way, you are right in that it is very hard to prove actual malice therefor most libel cases don’t even make it to court.

Which is impressive considering he's a Nashville based radio guy.

Still, no way to know exactly how well connected he is. He could have just been lucky enough to have some connection in Gainseville to someone close to that situation.

Seeing him post that makes me cautiously optimisitic though. If Currie has already worked the buyout out and he's done it this quietly, that's a good (albeit small) sign, IMO.

At this point, you've just gotta hope that Currie is the shadow ninja he was made out to be a few weeks ago and has a handle on everything behind the scenes. Because he's done nothing publicly to inspire any confidence in regards to football thus far at Tennessee.

Personally I think he's handled it all very well. Would I love to know all that's going on? Sure. Shoot, I'd settle for knowing anything that's going on. But the fact that we don't know is very impressive to me.

None of this should be handled in public simply to satisfy my curiosity and impatience. Which the only purpose it would serve.

And other than my impatience, I have no problem with the fact he hasn't announced, or put in affect, the firing. I see how that has worked at other schools and how it worked with us re Fulmer. No thank you.

Hey I totally get it. But there are some good things going on at the university right now. Davenport has fought hard to put a stop to some outsourcing that Haslam wanted. Currie has shown he can handle a coaching search (baseball I know) but still. Be hesitant like we all are but don’t think it’s just automatically gonna be another shotty coaching search.

We absolutely are. All I'm saying is if Frost wants to go to Florida he could agree to it as soon as he wanted.

These "feelers" are a lot more in depth than I think you're letting on.

Does UCF and UF work under the same umbrella?

If so they may have significant advantages working thru any future employment procedures.

What do you mean by outsourcing?

How interested do you think Frost really is in the Tennessee job? I think we have a really good shot if Florida goes with Taggart.

I would love to think it is going to be better, but I just can not do it anymore..as a Missourian would say..Show me.

Condemn...but VERIFY!
