Why would we do that? If he leaves on his own he'll lose out on the buyout and if we know he's looking and let him hang around then that makes our AD look stupid

Absolutely nothing. Every Tuesday to Monday is like the movie Groundhog Day except here we relive the same week over and over and over.

Tuesday-Friday. Realize we are stuck with Butch for another week. Rumors, speculation, etc.

Saturday. Loss on the field. Hope springs anew for a firing announcement.

Sunday. Hope for morning announcement. Then Butch Jones Show starts.

Monday. Hope for morning announcement. Then Butch Jones Press Conference starts.

Repeat.
