Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

I'm on page 244 catching up. This is my belief unless it is EXTREMELY recent.

Taking a while. Have to validate theories enroute to the end of this thread and check twitter occasionally. I found something last night that previous google searches were coming up blind. Finally hit it. Internet is your friend.

Ok.. I know this has weighed on her based on keeping up with it in the media since it started. Keep current employees or outsource

Edit: maintain working conditions at a higher operational cost. Employees would be retained

Did I say most? I didn't mean most. I had one specific person in mind.

I make good money, but I'm not wealthy. I work 60-70 hours a week, more than anyone in my employ. The tickets were sacrificially expensive and I plan on using them. I resent people who have contributed nothing to the university telling me what I should do.

Sorry for the apparent offense. Wasn't intended. I'll stop posting.

I agree about going to the game. Empty the stadium is stupid. If I didn't live 1000 miles away and didn't have to work, I'd be there.

Don't stop posting. It was a dumb post, IMO. We've all made them. Forget about and move on.

Enjoy the game and screw the ones that have a problem with it.

Jmo.

If you knew for certain right now that Chris Peterson wanted the job how many of you would be willing to change the name of the thread?

I might join a second thread. I like CP. But he would be 1D, distantly behind 1A, 1B, and 1C.

disregard..need to straighten my mind out

I wanted to reread what you wrote!

I don't see where it indicates that this is a cost savings over outsourcing. I just see where she is saying that they have reduced costs. To me that lays out that there are additional costs.

It's all a matter of how you look at it. I'm not sure I agree with Florida's firing making him look inept. The problem many of us make is judging him solely by what we can see from the outside.

Be patient and then judge the final product.

His comments supporting Butch last night weren't accodental..sending a message..he probably doesn't support him

If you are so confident that it WILL NOT be Gruden, how can you be SO confident that we will do better?..... Not an attack, you know that I totally respect you and your opinion... I am simply looking for truth and something to believe in...

Here is the problem as I see it.... We are going to be in competition with 5 possible six other SEC teams for top notch coaches.... thus shrinking the pool of quality candidates to a narrow gap... Our AD seems determined to hold out till the end of the season.... by that time recruits will have flown away and many coaches who COULD bring us back to prominence will be already hired..

If it is NOT Gruden.... we are in a BIG TIME mess imho

One thing I am 100% confident about is our dysfunctional and incompetent administration screwing this up. I honestly don’t think they have made any final decisions on Butch yet.
Now, I think he will continue to lose and they will have no choice. But I firmly believe it is a $*** storm, cluster #*** in the decision chain.

I never actually saw it at +10000. I've just heard that from others. It was +1000 when I got mine in.

Yeah, I've noticed a few people posting this. They're misinformed. It started at +2000 then +1600, +1200, +1000, +800, +650, +350, +250. The cut off date was October 31st and has been for at least a few weeks. It was in the top left corner of the prop screen.

<1%.......

If that is what it has come to, the gamesmanship has shifted in a bad way.

I stopped donating to the University in 2001. When I graduated UT was the best value in America according to a few of the rankings. They bagan a downward spiral and thus, I was not going to contribute to that.

After the Jones hire I was not happy, and further validated continuing not to donate. I gave him the chance, he did most everything pretty well and respectable, minus winning.

If this hire is not someone who can immediately impact this football team in a very noticeable way I will not pass judgement, but, I will not make UT Football the most important thing in the fall.

The academic and administrative side, well, continues to be a very questionable investment and will hold off for another year at least.

However, my other alma mater Northwestern will continue to receive my money as it is an investment with perpetual forward return. My degrees from UT mean less than they did when I graduated, but, my M.B.A. from Kellogg will continue to have much value and warranted appreciation on my part in the donations to the school.

I want to give UT my money, badly, but, they continue to show it isn't a wise investment.

My confidence is half of what it was before these 2 posts. I'll continue to hold on to the thought that it's Gruden until it isn't, but, M***ER****** these 2 just hit home.

Keep us informed on how you don’t contribute.

It might be done..passing up a financial savings because you don't need it..a Different meeting?

Still catching up..hell Gruden may be hired and I'm mising it

Outsourcing Update | Office of the Chancellor

PM to help recoup funds helping her decision...easier to justify passing on a recommendation from the Governor...gives her an out..especially if it's PM..maybe?

Sorry folks, people saying Gruden is 0% precent chance here don't know anymore than anyone else. Including Bcarter. His obsession with the Beaver is just as over the top as others on here. Many more have said that they have heard things that are just as credible as Carter or anyone else. Atlanta Vol, Boro, DTO, and many more. Too much smoke for there not to be a fire there somewhere. I don't put my whole stock in any one person, not Bcarter or MIT. I have been told by a few that have some big connections that have no reason to lie to me at all, that we are persuing Gruden. I believe them, I take all the info and collectively make up my own mind. So for the ones getting angry because we believe that Gruden is going to be our next coach, all I can say is what and see. SOON!!!! GBO!!!!

I'm confused as well. A few days ago, bcartervol98 stated that his connections from 2012 were not longer in play. Unless he's got a new connection, how can he be so certain? Is it like Hyams stating that Gruden has a 0% chance?

But that's not been the narrative this past week. It's been the deal is done, Gruden is coming, Jones has been fired since UGA.

Now, why would we need to pressure someone to accept the deal if this past weeks information is to be true?

Now just today alone I've seen people are blaming Haslam, but my point on that is, if you have everyone BUT the Haslams on board, do you really need their ok to hire him?

Which leads to my second point, that if Currie had the backing of the AA, Boosters, BoT and the whole of the AD, and Gruden has agreed then why would he not go ahead and hire Gruden and tell the Haslams to f%$k off? Seriously the guy would be dang near untouchable if he were able to pull that off. If he doesn't need the board approval to hire, which has been floated out there, then he for sure wouldn't need Haslams to say yes, they'd either like it or lump it.

So when MIT says now we need to add pressure on someone going against all that's been said this week, then I can see why people would call him troll.

You have said many times now that Currie would be untouchable. You aren't considering that Haslam's son is the governor, which also makes him the Chairman of the BoT, which also makes him Currie's ultimate boss.

I said it earlier...more gifs and unrelated talk, otherwise everybody goes full potato about 3 times a day.

If we aren’t outsourcing our facilities management...maybe we aren’t outsourcing a coaching search firm either...instead keeping it “In House”, thus Gruden is the choice.

I'm an opinionated old guy, as well. I get it. We all just want better things for UT. Emotions are a bit high in here right now.

nah, I'm in 2017 right now.

My thoughts/opinion is you have brought good info for me to digest(along with others) and I have you on my short list. However, we're in different camps when it comes to MIT Beav, nothing more complicated than that !It simply strikes a nerve when terms like "certifiable"are used against a selected few that have come from with credible info(too the best I can tell). In fact, for those that have said your full of it a few times, I disagree with that. You, Beav and others are bringing facts, with opinioins thrown in sometimes. It's up to us in the peanut gallery to watch the show and silently call BS oif we so choose !

I guess I get that. I will just say I am not the only one (Gruden Believers and Non Believers alike) that have seen the pattern to his posts and I am just over watching people say "Where is Beaver" and "I cannot wait till Beaver tells us what is really going on". The guy said it was done and its not. If it was it would be out there from someone reputable and its just not. If you look back at my posts I have been subtly saying to take what he and a few others say with a grain of salt.

I am not naming names or any BS like that. I am just saying based on things he has posted that I know to be false and people following him like he is the second coming of Jesus I had to say something even though I knew better and it would open up a can of worms lol.
