yeah but that was what his second year?

People said the same thing then that they're saying now about Jones in year 5

Two years is not enough time to see if he can get the job done. That's literally what everyone said.

Year three it was after the Vandy loss, which oddly was before we played KY. So really no coach survives losing to Vandy

Fulmer lost to Vandy in 2005.

Clay Travis talked about it on his show this morning (yes I know he has before...and he is a goof). However, it gets it out in the national media. The point of the post was the link to the out take from Clay's show this morning.

My bad.. misunderstood the intent.

Did you miss your blue font? You do understand that it is a university don't you?

It's a relatively modern notion that athletic development and the fostering of the competitive spirit are not important parts of higher education. This loss has been to our detriment, I personally believe

Thinking nothing big comes from the BOT meeting. Whatever deal does or doesn’t exist likely is put together in different ways

One hint given us by Beaver is there are more meeting going on than the BOT meeting...... those meetings may determine a whole lot more (what ever they are) and we will more than likely not even know about them

I thought Haslam was on board with Gruden? This goes back and forth,is he or is he not on board with this plan? I have said many times he and his son (BOT) would be critical supporters. Does anyone know the answer???

i've wondered myself, as i've heard he is and he isn't ... can someone clarify?

Doyle's Grudometer is at 20%.

I'm still holding onto a little hope simply because I cannot believe that our AD is as stupid and inept as he appears to be right now. There has to be some sort of method to his apparent madness.
Right?
Please tell me I'm right.

Doyle, I’ve seen Currie described in a variety of ways, most of which I admire, but inept has not been one of them except recently due to the current situation.

The photos of him posted after the last 2 games lead me to believe the descriptions of stone cold, ninja like, stealthy and ice water in his veins are the most accurate. The expressions captured on his face are a death stare. Most of the moms on here will recognize it and maybe a few kids and husbands will as well...

The Grude News, morning edition. For those just tuning in.

Well, slow news night for the most part partially filled with nostalgia of years gone past and bars, concerts and clubs revisited. Why, it reminds me of that time I was on spring break myself and came across these two lovely sorority girls that just loved a man in uniform...

That story is probably is inappropriate to be sharing here. I'll just tuck that away since Freak already has me on speed dial and is likely looking at this with "the look" on his face with his finger poised on the button. So, we'll save that for another time, shall we?

It was determined AllVolinGA has no insider status last night by his own admittance. But certainly went on a rant against the trolls. However, it's actually auf wiedersehen. (Two words.)

John Currie did an interview. Fairly cryptic quotes throughout the interview though I get the impression he knows the time. I might have to take back the bad things I said and was thinking about him...though probably not. He best have drawn the royal flush on his coaching search as calm as he seems to be. Most other P5 and G5 programs would have (and some already have) canned coaches for less than what Jones has done. Or rather, hasn't done.

Game of Thrones nerds fans continued to show their dorky side enthusiasm last night. They need a hobby or something. I'm halfway expecting the first annual Volnation Medieval Fair to be announced soon. Of course, we at Volnation News will cover that live.

Beaver dropped by in the middle of the dragon parade. Said he felt "very, very happy." Also said he agreed UT was taking a pounding in the public opinion but that would come to a swift end.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Vol fans suddenly cried out "YOU CAN DO THAT HERE!" after Gruden stated "boy I miss coaching" last night on MNF.

And apparently, some Florida fans are color blind since Gruden had on a red, white and blue tie, but they thought it was UF colors. Silly Gators...

And just as I was heading to bed, Bubba stopped in to announce another meeting this week, though unsure of which one. Beaver alluded to a meeting we should be watching out for, but most assumed it was the BOT meeting. Something else is in the winds...

Bob Shoop dropped a minor bomb about the state of the program yesterday. Basically, "we know what's going on, but we're focusing on Saturday." Read between the lines there, folks.

The trolls showed up last night for the night shift. A little outside their range.

In other news today, we had an exclusive interview with the infamous Team 121 Trash Can. And found him to be quite charismatic and intelligent. Here's an excerpt from the interview:

"People keep asking me 'hey aren't you embarrassed or something.' I mean, I could be embarrassed, but I know everyone has to start somewhere, right? I know my job is important for the team and I don't get tired of hauling around all those life championship trophies. And really, it's getting me some exposure and making a little money here and there. Eventually, I'm going back to school to make something of myself. I'm pretty sure I've got a career path laid out for me to someday be a recycling bin. By being a recycling bin, I can really help current and future generations as long as I show tenacity, maturation and resilience."

We wish Trash Can the best of luck in his endeavors.

From the entire Volnation News Team, I'm Grand Vol and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I dunno what you do/did for a living, but this is awesome. You should do creative writing or something somewhere.

Of course and I absolutely agree with what you said why can't we have both? I am all for that- but those on the academic side don't want both and haven't for years- hence why we are in this mess now.

that's why, as someone earlier so eloquently put it, if Gruden comes, it signals a shift across the board ... the entire university comes together on this one ...

i heard the fulmer podcast from when he was in newport a couple weeks back, and he was talking about how important it was for EVERYONE in the entire university structure to get/be on the same page.

Dooley lost to ky in 2011 and he came back for 2012.. correct me if I'm wrong..

He did. 2012 was when Dooley had some hype going. Returning Bray and Da'Rick. Hunter was coming back from injury. CP just joined us. Man I really wish I could've seen that offense.

Didn't take long for all that hype to come crashing down.

Like him or not, Fulmer bleeds orange for our university, our entire university!

Yes ... I was told last Christmas from a reliable usually tight lipped University source that "they were not sure Butch is the man to take us to a championship level". It's been in the works prior to Currie being hired even.

I said a couple of weeks ago on here that I think Currie was first step in this plan (I don't have any sources, just what I read & hear around town). I have wondered if I was wrong & Currie was second step & Bev was first step.

Coasty, I always look for and enjoy your post! More often then not, you put a smile on my face. Have a good day!!

I'm right there with you. 20% of me thinks there is no way the AD is as incompetent as it is looking. But, then the remaining 80% thinks it is entirely possible based on past events.

LMAO, not sure? You should have responded, no S***!

Negavols have been saying this since 2013.

I have NEVER been a negavol, but I posted this in December 2012.

After watching the Jones press conference, my deja vu feeling of nausea at the coach speak sent me out surfing multiple Bearcat boards and I found common themes concerning the new head coach.

Micro manager
Weak x's and o's guy
Paranoid
Bad late game management
No 2nd half adjustment
On field loyalty to less talented players
Big ego
Corny Butchisms
Unwillingness to adjust his way to current roster skill set
Fans more upset over loss of assistant coaches than head coach

The bammer and gator have gifted the Vols with Dooley 2.0 for a long term stretch. The only good things I could find were he works really, really hard and appears to be a recruiting upgrade over Doolz.

I avoided the obviously butthurt fans in reading statements concerning Jones, but most Bearcat fans think he is way out of his league in trying to coach in the SEC.

Ugh!!!!! Do I think Jones can win the SEC and a NC? No, but I hope I'm wrong.

Oldvol75, if you haven't put me on ignore yet, I do know that you bring a lot to the table, and you are a former player. Thank you for that.
