Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

and what would you call our situation? The fact that every national media member in the country and basically calling our AD an idiot because he hasn't fired Jones yet to me is a lot worse than what FL went through.

At least they can say "well he lied on a very serious matter", our AD just aww shucks it and we look like idiots.

Then you got fans wanting to boycott games, taking over twitter feeds about other sports, fire butch signs every where, yet this isn't a s$%t storm?

You're right it's not that, it's a freaking cluster f$%#k

I choose to believe that Currie is working (or allowing to be worked by boosters behind the scenes) to get Jon Gruden in here. It didn't happen in 2012, because of a lack of a plan. It will work out this time, but it will take time, to satisfy the AA side of things.
We as fans aren't a very patient lot. But it WILL get done.
Again, JMHO!

Yesterday on 99.1 on the cross over to Erik Ainge. He said a few things which I have been thinking about. He said the following things in a casual manner. I will paraphrase:
- Ainge is friends with a few big donors.
- Currie is asking these donors for more money then usual.
- The donors are reluctant to pay more than usual without the team showing a reason to.
- The donors will donate the normal amount, but they are hesitant to do more than that.
- The donors are not going anywhere. As in leaving.

With all of this said, do you guys think that maybe the deal with Gruden is all said and done but hinges upon Currie being able to persuade the donors for the money?

Buba said there is another meeting (cue mysterious music). could it be a meeting with the major principals involved????????:question::question:

Well that would certainly be the time to have it...with all the parties there.

Don't believe anything is being held up on the donor side.

I was being sarcastic. Currie is letting our great football program take some major brand hits, so his process better be worth it.

IMO, the hits our brand is getting from the outside world are no worse than the hits that came from the "Champions of Life", or the Team 121 Trash Can, or "Leadership Reps".

It's really bad on the inside (fans), but that can be fixed instantly if they make the right hire.

Outward perception is no worse than it's been since last year, again IMO.
