Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

I thought I had trouble setting down a good Jim Harrison or Tom Clancey novel. But, this thread, with lawyers, Bubba and the Scarabbeans and now with the KH Ecomics lesson. Couple all this with the usual great insiders and toss in a Beaver for good measure. Heck toss in Ivan while you’re at it with some fancy Scotch. I mean, you couldn’t write this novel if you wanted to, and I can’t set it down.

My only problem with that guess is that it doesn't make sense what Peyton would have to do with that.

If that was the case, then PM wold have to be the one bringing value to the MIT $$. That doesn't add up.

In my mind, PM's value add is either (1) straight capital contribution (2) agreement to do publicity, etc. (3) access (either to his own celebrity or to another group) (4) participation, as in working towards someone else's end goal.

It could be that the MIT money needs a spokesperson, and PM agreed to do it in exchange for grant money to UT... But that is COMPLETE speculation

The great thing with PM..just his presence is value. So many opportunities. Could literally say I give you x amount of my time for whatever you need within reason (stipulations in contract).

Did some of you guys who would accept Kiffin back here forget? The man desecrated TN football facilities by putting up USC players/highlights. Wanted to make UT the "USC of the east" or some such blasphemy.

That alone should make it out of the question for him to ever show his face around these parts.

Are you in the right thread?

10 Million and that’s not counting the assistants...

I think Gruden would be a solid hire but not sure he’d deserve to make more money than Saban his 1st year as a college HC.

Seems risky but it could work.

.....is a way of judging economic re-allocations of resources among people that captures some of the intuitive appeal of Pareto efficiencies, but has less stringent criteria and is hence applicable to more circumstances. A re-allocation is a Kaldor–Hicks improvement if those that are made better off could hypothetically compensate those that are made worse off and lead to a Pareto-improving outcome. (per wiki)

Yeah, that doesn't really help. LOL! I guess it equates to you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours?
