Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

Does AH tweets or swains retweets encourage anybody else like me...seems like they know something. I know everybody wants butch out ASAP but I would take butch being coach the remainder of the season as long as it means we get gruden rather than letting him go early and we end up with another Google coach. The only worry is butch wins 6 games and Currie thinks that's good enough to keep him.

First off, butch won't be coach next year. Period.

Second, I see it as good and bad. On one hand, it legitimizes the rumors to a degree. But at the same time, it gives insight into their angle. Seems clear that nothing is final with JG and those guys are doing their part to put pressure in the right direction.

If that is the case, I say it is just another sign that Gruden is coming. If not, why would one of them not want to at least try and peak interests on their potential head coaching ability and to win out...then maybe get a look from other teams? Just a thought.

I don't think it's at all a sure thing that Gruden takes the job, even if he has indicated he is interested.

Ive been rolling beer all day not been able to check in til now I listen to swain event and missed half of it...so is butch suppose to have a team meeting tonight at 8 and hopefully #firebutch tomorrow? Sorry guys for asking but just curious

Think someone said earlier it was just about Southern Miss. Yeah, apparently Jones is still trying to coach football. Pi$$e$ me off too.

I have to say, that's what it seems like to me as well.

I was at that Garth concert. 107.7 Listener appreciation show at world's Fair Park....about 1991. It was just before he hit it big with his second album.

Ahh...you guys are bringing back memories now. 91-94. One of the best concerts I ever went to was Garth Brooks at Thompson Boling. Some of the bars I remember...

Ivy's, Lap, Library, Cotton Eyed Joes, Hoorays in the OC, little jazz bar in the OC, reggae bar in the OC, bar right below Killer Pizza (saw the greatest Door's cover band there- the Backdoors I think). I used to work at Spaghetti Warehouse in the OC and we would go to the jazz bar right across the street every night after work to wind down, spent all my tip money at that place. Then we'd hit the Underground.

Velcro Pygmies, Mel and the Party Hats, Immortal Chorus, Tall Paul at the Library...memories.

I quite literally can't count how many times I saw the Allman Brothers at world's fair.

I am grew up in Atlanta, so I have seen Widespread probably around 150 times, they played all the time everywhere down here. The best times were when REM used to play every Thanksgiving for 3 nights, either at the Fox or the Civic Center, every year for about 5 years.

Man I wish I could remember the names of the bars. I remember BW3. What was the place on 3rd and Gay? I think it's called Annie's now?

You see I’m having to ask everyone the names. Had way to much and many good times at a lot of them. We all probably crossed paths back then. I have been around Volnation since Fulmer was asked to step aside what twenty or thirty years ago lol. I feel like I know a lot of you and I used to post years ago but forgot my username so reenlisted a couple of years ago and just started posting again.
