Maybe they were going to announce it but for some reason didn't. I am confident Butch was terminated today and will be announced at some point I just really felt with what little information I know it would be tonight. At least set the stage for a formal announcement tomorrow. Something. People in the press are just as surprised as people on here, at least those I know.

It’s interesting to me to find out what people really know, really believe, and why. It’s why I asked you to state firmly that you believed Mac would be fired for his performance. And I ask you now, absent their ability to terminate for cause, do you think he gets fired after that performance?

So, do you think, as I, that the AD was trying to secure a deal with Gruden before they fired BJ and couldn't do either?

Lets also go back to the fact that Gruden has literally said NOTHING about this publicly.. As many "friends" as he's said to have in the area, why take them all for a ride and go against what the University is trying to accomplish by letting people get amped up and saying nothing?

I didn’t think Gruden could be announced before his son’s season ended due to it being a recruiting violation.

I doubt he will announce anything on MNF. I think it will be a big ordeal for ESPN for publicity so viewership will make ratings go up. It will be when things are dead during the week not weekend or Monday night in my own opinion.

And for the folks who want to hyper analyze everything I say-

Carrot = Gruden paid for by boosters + all of the additional revenue Gruden brings to UT.

Stick = Completely cutting off donations and support to the university worth many millions + decreases in football revenue because Volnation is apathetic.

Maybe UT has their man and the point is moot, but they way this plays out in the media should give any potential coach pause before picking up the phone when UT rings. Florida moves with decisiveness, we flub every move we make in the media.

Serious question. How will everyone react if Florida hires Chip Kelly or Dan Mullen very fast, and we either keep Butch or fire him and hire someone just like him long after Florida makes their hire? I'm just curious.
