Nope. I understand you can read. But it's been modified and both sides are allowed to do so.

You'll understand when it's announced what he's walking away with. It won't match up with your "daily prorated" example you're quoting.

Two questions:

1) is the contract language I quoted and interpreted the most recent correct and publically available contract terms?

2) is my analysis of that language correct?

Joined today for my birthday and 55 years of my Tennessee Volunteers. My present to self is to be a Grudenite with my fellow Vols. All IN. Gruden would be Bruce Pearl x10 with it being football.

Welcome! And happy birthday! May you enjoy many more blessed trips around the sun!

I read somewhere tonight that there is in fighting between a couple of the coaches as to who will be the interim coach when Butch is gone.... If that is the case Currie knows it... He is buying time to work it out...

It's all good!!!

Read this last statement carefully:

"Head coach Butch Jones and athletic director John Currie met Sunday to discuss the future of the Tennessee football program, sources told GoVols247 Sunday evening.
Barring any unforeseen developments Sunday night or Monday morning, Jones will coach Tennessee (3-5, 0-5 SEC) this week against Southern Miss (5-3, 3-2 Conference USA), those sources said, but the fifth-year head coach's future beyond Saturday is unknown.

The situation remains fluid, as sources have told GoVols247 that Jones's fate has been decided, with only the timing and the announcement of his firing to be settled.

Looks like a Done Deal to me... We all cool guys.... RELAX, drink some prune juice and it will all be fine in the morning//////

I don't understand this totally. Is this from another forum?
Sources make me wonder. Sources were wrong last time.

Very. So we have offshore betting closing, the corona contest ending and the 1st championship rankings coming out. What else is going on Tuesday?

Again. Its after MNF. Its days before 11/3 (Grudens sons last football game). Its before homecoming, which many have confirmed Gruden to be attending as well.

Its like perfect storm week.

When somebody sucks at their job, you fire them. That's rational.

Look at it wholisticlly. If you have coordinators who fight like kids, plan A not fully in place, your current HC is looking for a place to land, administration fighting with boosters, etc etc, it's not that easy

Let me guess.. Gruden doesn’t want him fired yet?

I've wondered this as well. Maybe Gruden wants to be able to announce it on MNF that future date will be his last broadcast and I will be taking the job at the University of Tennessee. And he can't or doesn't want to do that until a certain date? Honestly nothing else makes sense unless Currie and UT admin just want to destroy our football program.

Y'all have seriously drug this on too long now. He has negotiated a buyout, so the language in the contract you are quoting is moot.

I'm begging you to stop discussing this.

:)

He's been "fired". Question is why Currie hasn't announced.

I have never seen anything like this. Media starts alerting their on air people to be ready for an announcement and then crickets. Is the AD feeding the media outlets a fake narrative? I don't see the up side to having people waiting for an announcement or statement then not do anything. Surely the media people that are in direct contact with the AD would not do this because they just want to be ready "just in case". I'm baffled we haven't heard anything at all after all the Hubbs and Lowe on air discussion and others not on the air being told to get ready for some sort of announcement or statement. I just got back where I could catch up and it all made sense till hours after there was going to be this statement or announcement and nothing has come out except the standard media schedule for the week.

Maybe they were going to announce it but for some reason didn't. I am confident Butch was terminated today and will be announced at some point I just really felt with what little information I know it would be tonight. At least set the stage for a formal announcement tomorrow. Something. People in the press are just as surprised as people on here, at least those I know.

Fulmer deserved that ride off the field. He earned in in his first 10 seasons. Botch deserves a champions of life trophy and a gift certificate to his moving company of choice to go along with his way to big of a buyout check.

Coasty, you ain't hit me back. I don't know why you're so chill. This statement contradicts itself. Note the Bolded Italicized portions:

Read this last statement carefully:

so which is it?
future unknown or been decided/matter of time?

I'm not seeing it.

Very interesting that WBIR is running this story. They buried the lead and the headline doesn't even mention the firing. Something doesn't quite add up here.
