He's probably the safest choice as he's the one with seasons of HC experience, although I'd still say let's give Shoop the last 3 - 4 games. Currie should want to give Shoop the extended interview process that is interim coaching.

IF the catalyst for this meeting is the situation in Florida... it means that UT does NOT have a new coach lined up and must let prospective hires know for sure that the Vols have an opening. They don't want one of their targets taking the Florida job before the Vols get their swings in.

This ought to put the Grumours to bed. If UT had Gruden lined up and waiting, they wouldn't give a sh*t what Florida does.

Griffith wouldn't be reporting this without being 100% confident in his source. The guy has been a Butch apologist for too long to put his access at risk for publishing this article without being 100% sure it's going down.
