Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIV

:) your damned self! It's very suspicious that media reports came out last night with details about McElwain down to who would be interim; however, we get smiley faces on VN.

Because he has no real information and never has. To date his biggest contribution has been predicting that people would bet on grudens +10000 line and cause it to drop. Given the number of grudem threads on here, that's pretty obvious.

SFD, do you think this all hinges around the BOT meeting which someone said is scheduled for this Tuesday?

BOT has to approve all personnel maneuvers such as the one we are all waiting for.

And if we are in negotiations with JG and the control issues are on the table as conditions for employment, the BOT has to formally approve those type of changes.

Bylaw changes and such?

I don't think so. I think the Tennessee football coach is the highest paid (or close to) employee in the state. I think if it was necessary for the board to meet they would call an emergency meeting, not wait for a prescheduled one.

But I don't know much about their meeting scheduled.

The only logical reason for allowing Butch to coach next Saturday is the BOT meeting this week. Because UT is risking a lot of empty seats at Homecoming and a rain of Boos when Butch runs out.

Don't see why they couldn't call an emergency meeting to handle all of this, sure appears that UF can but we can't

Very much holding strong on 100% done on Gruden. This place is volatile after the really tough loss which is why most insiders are not coming around (people will accuse them or go off of the deep end).

UT can’t afford what happens if they reject the Gruden deal. They like to build too many new buildings and construction projects to afford to piss off the people who put this thing together. Also, this time is very very different from 2012 between the players involved and Gruden’s situation.

How can it be "100% done", but UT still be in a position to potentially "reject the Gruden deal"? Makes no sense

You mean the signed, done deal?

You all realize Florida’s athletic department with all the leaks is the dumpster fire right?

I don’t want Currie to make some BS statement. If he’s going to fire him now do it and if not he darn well better have a plan in place for when he does.

If Florida doesn’t get Kelly they have to wait for the end of the year and the players found out about the move on Twitter.

Florida looks bad here imo.

Whether you believe him or not, this makes sense.

I believe he is talking about from the booster and academic side. The boosters want Gruden but the academic side could care less who the coach is. They just want the booster money. It's a hostage situation

Fair enough. And I appreciate your steadfastness. That said, in one paragraph you're saying done deal. And in the next talking about offers still being on the table for people to accept/reject. Not saying you're wrong. I've just not heard enough to say 100%. Help me justify those 2 statements above.

Then it's not a 'done deal.' He should use the correct terms. All BS.

His identity has been verified by Atlanta who's word is good here. He is who he says he is.

Get your facts straight before coming in here with that crap.

If it is a done deal, then why isn't Butch fired? I don't understand why it hasn't at least been announced.
