Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIV

Always been my understanding that among coaches, few will ever talk about accepting a job while another coach holds the position. Especially if they know that coach..
Gruden is Butch's friend..... just saying

.

With the ESPN money and sponsorship money he's probably already making $10 MM per year....with no responsibility regarding wins and losses. Why would he leave what he has?

Can you guys please come up with a different narrative? Go through the other Gruden threads to find your answer.

Oh, and Gruden won with Dungy’s players. There, I already used it.

I think what has become crystal clear is that no one on this board has any sources and no one on this board has any idea what is going to happen

I agree 100%. No one but a few knows what is going on for sure and they aren't talking.

I have personal relationships with folks inside the AD and they are not talking. I believe they are fearful for their jobs. I know and am around former players and folks who help pay the bills and have their names or business names on UT facilities. When these folks talk it appears to be speculation with a hint of inside knowledge but still mostly theory.

With that said, I would pay close attention to Hyamms as I believe the AD is speaking through him. For example, he has said CBJ would coach the KY game for weeks. Now Hyamms has said CBJ will coach the USM game.

I believe CBJ will be out at some point and time will tell when that is and time will tell who the next coach will be. Be patient my friends. Go VOLS!

The only way this works is if the recruits are notified that gruden will be coach next year..but there is no way recruits would be able to keep there mouth shut

True. But....

From an AD perspective, this doesn't make sense. Why would Butch be given a deal, only to also be given the keys to the ranch, where his inaction could have even greater ramifications on this program for years to come? It wouldn't surprise me, though. Nothing about UT has surprised me since the Monday following the SC game in '08.

You trying to start trouble, Boca? You've been around here enough to know the answer to that question.

I know, I know. However, when I posed this question it was in another thread...now it has been merged.

I'll see myself out! :thud:

If you haven't already heard the answer to that you need help. And if you keep asking the question like you are you affirm my previous sentence. SOON!!!! GET IT DONE!!!!!

Well it is a message board. He brings good info. It has been said many moving parts and things change. If you hang on what someone here says then you definitely need a life.

Don't get soft on us now brother.... Just give him the Knucklehead patterned "gtfo" haha

I said this a few Grudens back and got bashed.

We will not hear any solid information while we still have a head coach. We don't even know for sure about "an agreement " with Butch. No University conformation. Just message board stuff.

All agree something needs to be done. We are on this thread wanting Gruden.
We won't know until the first step is done.

I agree

247 started this last night. When Hubbs jumps off the Butch train, it's because he got the go-ahead.

Exactly.
We will know for sure if Ainge suddenly removes his head from Lyle Allen's ass tomorrow and starts turning on him.
Pay no attention to Hyams.
He will be shooting down any talk of immediate firing until we are 15 minutes into the announcement.

His job is not stable with ESPN. They are laying people off like crazy. He may have no choice but take another job

I mean it does take a certain sort of coaching wizardry to give us the results we see.

daj IIRC your data on bUTch at Cincy suggested that he "punched above his weight" re beating more talented teams.

I'm curious how his UT numbes add up.

Still trying to catch up. If CBJ coaches next week, it will be a 'butch slap' to the fan base, that has supported the team, coach, and the AD for several years. Some with a larger $ donation than others. I don't care about schedules, just results.

Are you getting what you feel you are paying for?

Brent Hubbs stated this AM he requested an official response from the AD last night regarding the status of the program. Got no response.

Not trying to fact check you at all because let's be real we are past dumpster fire status. I just wondered if you personally read or heard this. I missed it.

Best book ever.

Really was. No matter how many times I read it, I always thought it was gonna turn out different. Part of me wanted to see how cool the monster was, part of me was scared to death.

Gruden is the cool monster. Bobo, Frost, Mullen...pretty much everybody else is the scary monster.

This year just has me totally depressed. I may be stupid but I still believe beaver knows a whole lot more than what he has posted. He may not knows sh!t,but I think he does. Time will tell I guess.

I truly believe that this is all going to work out. Whether it is Gruden or someone else, I think it will be a strong hire. We have no choice at this point. I can tell you that I know for a fact Currie is a no nonsense strategic administrator. People I know on the inside have complete trust that he will get it right and do it at the right time. Don’t forget, you can’t make someone take the job but you can do everything in your power to make it hard to turn down. I am going to choose to trust him until he gives me no reason to continue.

Wonder what would happen if we gave them a taste of the silence they seem to be giving us. We stop calling in to radio shows, we stop posting, and we don’t show up for games. Here we all are freaking out...and they just put us on ignore.
