I agree. I’m not going to let something so irrelevant to eternity control my mood today. And I agree everyone is pissed.
But are they?? They being the AD? Sometimes it’s good to make an emotional decision. I was pissed after Fl and Ga, expectant of the Bama beatdown but very apathetic towards SC and Ky. Everyone is so angry the night of the loss. “Boosters are so mad!” “Look at the look on Currie’s face! He’s so angry!” But they go home, cool off and check out and never do anything. The supposed cat and mouse game between the AD and big boosters is slowly becoming a myth and the simple explanations offered by Hyamms is setting in. Currie is just like everyone else. I hope I’m wrong Knuck, but apathy is numbing.

The only thing that confuses me is why more AD's don't just say in the beginning -
"As always, we would never speculate on the future of _____ program status. Per the standard, we will observe the body of work throughout the season and plan accordingly, positive or negative. No conclusions should be drawn pre ____. Until such time, all university staff have full support of the administration."

Would at least reduce the speculation that if we don't fire someone 5 games (etc) in, that they will not be fired. And that a backup plan isn't in the works.
They really could help themselves and the fan bases' patience

Lawrence is all Vol at heart. Vols are his dream school. Butch $%#@ED it up and he doesn't want to play for Butch offense system. Can't say I blame him.

I agree...I still think the week of November 27 will be the time for Butch to be gone. BUT, Currie does need to at least help stop the bleeding by giving some insightful notice. By doing so, this would align with having someone else in place rather than still needing to look. If he does not make a move either way, it makes me wonder if it all has been a smokescreen. I do not think that is the case...Currie strikes me as a cool, calm, calculating individual and I give him the benefit of the doubt until I see 💯% that he is botching the process. But until then...I still say SOON! With my Grude-on!

IF he is still coach by end of day I’m going to say we all got trolled big time by the Beaver and my Gruden meter will be down to about 5%

Only thing I can say is no way Currie doesn't have Gruden or something in his back pocket if he keeps Jones at 0-5 in the conference. Him staying actually tells me more, either something good is coming or, the bad direction and it's a complete dumpster fire around here.

I have Comcast in the Knox area and it says Butch Jones show. I wouldn’t read too much into a tv cable guide.

Yeah so am I. And if I was good at football I still wouldn't tell people I was going to UT without speaking to the coaches first.

Not saying you're wrong but wouldn't those statements hold true if it was all from the Booster, Gruden side of things? This is exactly what happened the last time.

Been watching the Vols for the last 10 years? Which of the two scenarios from above seems most likely to be true ?

Its out of China so w the time difference 12 would make sense. Probably end of October because they anticipate moves will begin in November so they lock the bets in before leaks begin.

And this could be the reason Jones is still 'employeed'. Currie could go rogue and hire who he wants. And btw Florida has been in touch with Norvell as well. They are moving fast.
