Hey Nation.....been lurking a while and really enjoy what most here have to offer about the going on at our beloved university. Although not an alum (put myself through our states’ oldest institute for higher learning), I was born and raised an East TN country boy that bleeds orange. Above all, I want to see our Vols finally have the top tier leadership they deserve as players, and that we desire as fans or alumni. I am one like most of you who want Gruden above anything, but know that situations like these are fluid so I try to keep an even keel. If you knew me, you would know how hard that is, as I’m the type that gets fired up pretty easily. I just want thank you guys for all of the info over the last several days, but also the great banter, storytelling, humor, and heartfelt humble actions that have gone on between several of you. It makes me appreciate even more what our fan base is really about, and how blessed we all are to call our state home and the Vols ours. I’m all in on Gruden, but no matter which way this goes, thank you all again.

Go Vols!

Soon!

Are you from Greene County?

I have no sources...it just seems smoke is coming from more, and different directions. A few weeks ago when it was just the guys from 2012 sharing “info” I didn’t believe at all.

Only reason it feels more likely this time is because we are in a better spot as a program.

It's definitely coming from John Kelly's car

It’s people like you who’ve made TN what it is: mediocre. You can’t see the big picture. You just want to get another coach and roll with him for 3-5 years and believe it’s all about the X’s and O’s.

It’s bigger than that. We have an institutional culture of settling for mediocrity. Doug Dickey was AD for 20+ years. Between Majors and Fulmer we had 2 coaches over 25 years. Not to mention the president and chancellor were all on board and understood that football made everything else great. And somehow, over the past 10 years, we’ve become “just another university” with no identity, no leadership, no purpose and no vision. Hiring Gruden is a message to the the students, faculty, players and fans that TN is coming back to its roots. TN isn’t accepting average anymore and it will all begin with the growing the flagship program back to its proper place, on top.

THATS what hiring Gruden will bring.
