That mentality spreads to the players. If we lose to UK, it's because they're a really, really good football team. Bama was very, very, very good and they run over everybody. Bowl games become bowl championships because that's the only kind we can win. And somehow all this is supposed to be okay at UT. Not okay. Every day this coach stays just makes everybody want the season over sooner.

Don't know if it has already been brought up....but John Kelly and Will Ignont were both cited with possession of marijuana after traffic stop last night.

99 percent of the time, I don't care what he says at a press conference. This defeatist stuff is getting old though.

This is just a typical Knox media question where they try and box him into a corner. Nothing to see here.

Coaches have complained about admissions on some players but that's really the only thing the academic side has control over.

And why some guys get into Bama and not UT. I think players should be able to read but we could be easier in this area and it absolutely matters when the AD hires a coach of football.

UT’s John Kelly, Will Ignont cited after marijuana found during traffic stop | WATE 6 On Your Side

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two University of Tennessee football players were cited after drugs were found during a traffic stop Tuesday night.

Knoxville police say John Kelly was driving a vehicle on Cumberland Avenue around 10:46 p.m. William Ignont was a passenger.

The two were pulled over during a traffic stop near 11th Street due to a headlight being out.

When the window was rolled down, the officer claims a strong smell came out of the vehicle.

According to the report, the officer asked Kelly and Ignont to step out of the vehicle. The players consented to the vehicle being searched.

A clear plastic bag of what appeared to be marijuana was found in the center console. KPD says there were 4.6 grams in the bag. Officers also found a glass pipe.

According to the report, neither players claimed ownership of the bag and pipe.

Both of them were cited and allowed to leave. They must turn themselves in for booking at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office by Nov. 7 at 7:30 a.m.

Kelly was cited for possession of a schedule 6 drug (a misdemeanor), not having a headlight and not having proof of insurance.

Ignont was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia; which is a misdemeanor.

You know what’s sad? This kid is making unbelievable contact. Proper mechanics and he could be a good kicker. Contact is the most challenging aspect of kicking. Zero follow through and he nailed that kick on contact alone.

Like someone pointed out he’s not gonna say “yes we should be Kentucky every year” which is what people want him to think which I’m sure he does.

Edit: gonna be interesting to see if this holds true. Even if that was the initial plan I could see that being overruled and they both sit for UK.

All those lack of discipline, no team leaders and players doing whatever they want comments. Yeah, that.

Next coach is going to have some work to do.
