Keep butch 1 more year, then see if we can get kiffin back if he finishes strong next year. Hire Dooley as OC (his offense was good) and then find a DC. Whos with me?!?!?

Not really anything news worthy. But quite a few posters are feeling more and more confident from things they've heard. I think everyone's just waiting for Butch to get fired before much else leaks. I get the vibe some people have good info they just aren't sharing much due to the inevitability of being called out as a troll if Gruden doesn't end up getting introduced as the next coach. It's understandable.

One longtime poster did share this tonight...

Today, I was at a meeting with a former Vol player who was a 1st round draft choice, All America and All SEC. We chatted, catching up, and then, of course, the Vols situation came up. He told me he felt very confident that JG would be the next coach. I have no idea how connected he is, and I didn't ask. He volunteered that he had been in contact with other former players over the past week and the general feeling is we are in good shape. Of course, being a great player doesn't mean anything more but he is a straight shooter. Have known him since he was a pup...a pretty big pup, but still a pup.

Mullen would immediately be the best X’s & O’s coach in the East. He would easily win 9-10 a year at Tennessee. If Miss St was in the East then DM would’ve had Miss St in Atlanta 4-5 times in the last 10 years.

9-11. He has done more with less nearly every year at MSU.

Imagine what someone doing more with less can accomplish at Tennessee. I realize he doesn’t look ripped in a schmedium polo or throw on a helmet and practice, but he’s a damn good football coach.

If he doesn’t have beach muscles like Frost I’m not sure I want him to be the coach at UT

Give me an hour... I’m not going to just keep throwing out one liners. I’m going to break down exactly what me issues are. I don’t have the time for this, but I’m doing it anyways, because it has to be done

The coaching pool is never great. There is never a year where the pool is just teeming with great candidates who want to jump. If that's part of your thought process, you'll never rise above a certain threshold in this.
