If you follow the timeline last year I think it happened with Herman at both LSU and Texas. Either that or he interviewed during his regular season.

If Strong wins the Kansas game, Herman’s at LSU. Texas had the advantage of Herman loving the state and wanting to coach at the P5 level in this state. There were no early interviews or agent approaching...the job simply became available and he snapped it up.

One thing that Beaver said was a little concerning to me. He said if Currie tries to act like he spear headed this Gruden deal he's full of you know what. Didn't seem too high on him. Also said the current academic administration has been a cancer on the athletic programs.

COnsider the source. Big money likes to get all the credit and belittle those under them as well. Currie will have played a part just like they blame Hart for last time. Can't blame one for not finishing and not credit the other for it

You really think Strong is still at Tx if he beats Kansas? Lol. That's like saying Butch is still at TN if he beats Ky or Vandy. Similar situations going on here as there. All about $$$. Don't want to agree to lesser buyout Ok we will let you continue to embarrass yourself as the HC racking up embarrassing losses

What about at LsU?

There were stories about negotiations there from multiple places

Unrelated to Gruden, but has anyone reversed their opinion on Jim Chaney? What he's doing with a true freshman has impressed me. Seems like whatever offense he runs puts up massive numbers. I'm having to eat a little crow on him.

Have to give some credit but having two future NFL RB who are having a really good year always makes the OC look a little bit better.

GA’s recruiting class is ridiculous for the 3rd straight year. We are in real danger of joining KY and Vandy at the bottom of the SEC for the foreseeable future. Currie seems like nothing more than a puppet at this point. DB would’ve fired Butch already imo and that’s why they didn’t hire him. Hopefully the Illuminati or whoever Beaver said was pushing Gruden through is legit. Save us Gruden!

TL;DR anything after "Unrelated to Gruden."

I no longer want Gruden for recruiting or coaching or for being the center of college football. I want him to be the coach here for the ensuing, obnoxious hyperbole and I couldn't be more pumped up for that.

If Gruden ends up coming here you realize that Currie will be a big reason why, right?

Herman knew before the Memphis game on November 25 that he was getting the Texas job. I remember the interview where he wanted nothing to do with Cubelic's questions. Texas played TCU that day.

Herman was announced on November 26 and PC was November 27. I don't care what you call it, but there was some type of communication between Texas and Herman while he was at Houston. Searches don't go that quickly.

Same thing happened with Justin Fuente. Memphis beat SMU 63-0 in his last game on November 28, and he was announced at VTech on November 29.

I always liked chaney. he gets too pass happy at times when he has a big arm. So it was actually probably a blessing in disguise to lose Eason and force him to run run run

Let me share one thing that gives me a bad vibe on the next coaching hire not being a program changing hire. IF (big if) you are connected with the program and have influence on the next hire, don’t you get a quiet word out to Kevin and tell him sit tight, it’s all good?
