I didn't hear it, but if we are to believe the info reported about the Hyams radio show, Butch can only lose one more game and he will be fired.

Some positives:

I don't think there is a down side to Frosty. I believe he shows better grades in everything in comparison to Butch. So, I would be thrilled if they went there. He is even a top recruiter.

After the Bama game, I have great confidence in our defense. If it wasn't for Kongbo, Vols would have only allowed 7 points at the half. No way they could keep up that pace after always being on the field, so I excuse the points in the second half.

JG has Worley toughness. I would have probably put in a transfer, after that position Butch put him in just before the half. He obviously isn't scared, he doesn't turn the ball over and he's not staring down the receiver. He and Callaway seem to have a bit of chemistry. (wish some other receivers would step up)

While I think a lot of the time the guys on Fox sports Knoxville just stir up stuff, I will agree with what they are saying this morning. There is a large disconnect between the academic side of the University and the athletic side of the University. Alabama changed around the academic calendar to suit the football team so that they could be more successful. In return the athletic side gives more money to the academic side. This in return allows the academic side to hand out more scholarships etc. to build the school. At Tennessee the academic side has this elitist mentality and they don’t care what happens with the football team and they feel like they can do the academics on their own. Until there is a mutual understanding from each other and probably some changes to our academic calendar to suit the football team and practice schedules we are going to be stuck in mediocrity. It’s probably one of the reasons why a guy like Jon Gruden will not take the job

You don't have to run on the quarter system to be successful.

They're doing their usual schtick. Are there issues at UT? Of course. And they need to be fixed. But those clods are just pointing at Bama and going off of what they've read online.

Edit to add: I would go so far as to say what Bama is doing is pretty low from an Academic perspective. I'm willing to bet its not some wonderful, symbiotic relationship both sides are just thrilled with. The school serves the program...and that's f'ed up.

Really? If Gruden was the hire, what's stopping him, Currie, the BOT and a number of other people privy to the info to go out and place significant bets shortly before things are announced publicly?

Prop bets normally have very low limits. And it's not like these sites are anonymous. They could easily cancel the bet if they find out the person wagering has inside information

When are y'all going to learn to quit biting the hook of the fisher troll named Bruin? It doesn't matter how correct you are in your responses to him. He wins when you respond.

This needs to be pinned at the top of every page. You don't win by pointing out flaws in his argument, he wins by getting you to respond to something that doesn't deserve a response.

We gettin Gruden or what?

Someone posted earlier JG doesn't stare down his WR's, unfortunately he does... not as bad as QD, but he still does... that is how he got sacked twice in the bama game-- never saw the guy speeding in from the corner untouched...

Scanning downfield and not feeling pressure is different than locking on to one receiver

He was staring to the left and never turned his head... definition of staring down ... if he was scanning, he would have easily picked him up. He has a lot of upside and is tough, but still has a lot to improve on..

If Gruden says he isn't taking a job because of academic calendar then it's because he searched high and low for a reason to let his friends down easily without them being upset with him for them working so hard to try and make it happen and not feel like wasted time. If he really wanted it he wouldn't let something that only one school in country does deter him
