If we go 4-8 I'm laying partial blame at curries feet. Would be literally the worst season in UT football history.
Looking like JAllen was wrong. He was pretty admanant that Jones would be gone after the Bama game. Unless it happens sometime later today, I'm marking him off the list of people who might know what's going on. LWS, JAV and Atlanta Vol are about the only ones who have close to a clue IMO.
I'm not going to play "these guys SHOULD or SHOULDN'T be on the list." I'm rolling with who LWS says is realistic.
My order:
Frost
Brohm
Morris
Campbell
Doeren
Durkin
I don't know that Mike Houston was a legit name when it was thrown out but I'm interested in him as well.
The complete silence from the UTAD has really hurt this program over the last month. If Currie's plan had always been to keep CBJ through the rest of the season no matter what, then he should have come out after the UGA game and said as much. All he would have had to say is "we completely support CBJ and are looking forward to watching the team grow and get better and achieve the highest goals possible this season. All decisions regarding the future will be made after a full assessment of this season and the program are made." Simple. Done. No daily speculation of will he/won't he.
Instead, there has been a complete void of information and support from the UTAD and that void is being filled by rumor and speculation, which has in turn created a completely toxic environment around the program. Thus, recruits are jumping off the ship, etc.
Currie may end up making a great hire (if he indeed makes a change) but I am giving him very low marks right now for his complete silence regarding this team and overall handling of the situation so far.
Currie is not gonna make a statement like that because he can't paint himself into a corner. Reason being, I don't think he sees it as "no matter what".
He will be a great hire for someone. If UNC makes a change I could see them taking a very hard look at him.
So if he comes out after UGA (when many knew for sure it was happening) and he said "Jones is going to finish the season regardless". You actually think the fans are gonna just say "ok" and just wait after losing to SC and getting blasted by Bama again? He should say it anyway, even if it isn't true. Because it calms the toxicity down. If we were to slip to 3-6 or something he could always still make a change and no one is gonna say "But but but, you said you weren't gonna do this..." etc.
The point of coming out and saying something (ANYTHING!!) is to quiet all of the noise and toxicity as best you can. That's part of his job. He's failing at it.

Currie biggest obstacle is not when he fires Jones this year or whether he makes a statement that he's not being fired until the end of Nov. Its hiring the guy that fixes it. If thats where his focus is (and from what Ive heard to this point, it is) the rest is irrelevant.
