Whatever. The statement was every sports organization they touch turns bad. The Browns were already bad. Big Jim has been involved at UT since Neyland was coach. I think we have won some titles. But you keep being you.

My point was his leash has been too long. Muschamp had just came off an 11-1 season and LSU had a national championship head coach. It'd be different if Jones had actually accomplished something. Doesn't really matter now though, he will be fired it's just a question of when not if. If something is inevitable sometimes it's best for all parties to just go ahead and get it over with. It's a waste of time to keep him around IMO.

I feel the same way and would have fired him by now, FWIW.


I just think it’s highly likely that Currie knows better than we do either way.

In my original post I said most of those schools would have probably fired him after last year. Not moving the parameters. The point is, he should have already been fired IMO

A UT coach is measured by his performance in this game (apparently). Ball is in your court Jones. Can you rally the Vols against arch nemesis Kentucky??

The buyout is fixed. There is no negotiating involved, unless Sexton wants to negotiate terms more favorable to UT (i.e., reduce the buyout); in return, UT would allow CBJ to resign early to save face and preserve his marketability. CBJ has never been fired, so there was speculation he would see value in that.

Just pure speculation. It was a back to back 9 win season with tons of injuries. No one predicted a total collapse with an anemic offense.

History does not suggest that other schools would do anything different, but feel free to believe it.

If this team limps into a bowl with 6 wins (and I mean team, not Butch and Co) and they try and keep Butch, there will be a mass exodus of fans. There is no scenario at this point with him being a total mockery to the media that we keep him. No way we go another year with his total BS, and if you think it was bad this year, just wait if we keep him-- he will be the biggest joke of a coach in college football and the media will be merciless. Nevermind the fact that we will be lucky to even sign a full class of duds.... Absolutely no kid worth a flip would want to even sniff this joke of a program.

It shows you the vast difference in their program and ours. Five years later and we are still no where close. I am not stupid but obviously you can't understand something that should've been clear with someone with reasonable cognitive skills.

Finebaum is spot on. We will lose to at least 2 more teams anyway though.

Gotta say Kiffin and Dooley put better teams on the field. They might have had less talent but their teams were generally more fun to watch. Has any UT coach done less with more than CBJ?

We'll have more talent than any other team we play except for LSU, but we could be dogs in 3 out of 5 games. And we'll struggle to get to 6-6.
