Simply my opinion:
1. Jon Gruden
-with a staff loaded w proven college experience
-will need experienced recruiters to help avoid violations
-not sure how he would handle entitled college athletes vs the pros
-his time away from coaching may have refreshed his passion for the game even more
2. David Shaw
-his brand of Ftball fits sec well
-Proven winner in big games
-can work well under high academic standards
3. Steve Sarkisian (surprised not mentioned yet)
-seems to have moved past personal issues from years ago
-His Washington teams played good Ftball in all 3 phases
-now has a season working with a great nfl coach (Dan Quinn)
-would have something to prove
- maybe w Tee as OC (not sure if they crossed paths, but have shared coaching experiences at USC)
Honorary mention:
-Kyle Whittingham (w an established OC)
-Gary Patterson (only if OC Sonny Cumbie comes w him)
-Chip Kelly (w an established DC)
TOP ASSISTANTS TO BE TARGETED:
-Brent Venebles DC
-Stanfords RB coach (cant remember his name)
-Tee Martin OC/QBs (limited experience, but wouldnt be a flop)
-Don Brown DC (michigan dc)
-Major Applewhite OC (prob wouldnt go back to OC, but worth a try)
-Sonny Cumbie OC (TCU OC)
-Marques Tuiasosopo QBs coach (currently Cal QB/PGCoord coach I believe)
-played for Gruden in Oakland if I recall correctly

-Mike Tice OL Coach
STAFF THAT WE SHOULD CONSIDER RETAINING:
Brady Hoke
Gillespie
Scott (as TEs coach)
Warren
