When is 2012 did Gruden ever say he was even offered the job. The only thing I remember him saying was on the Mike and Mike show that he never got a call.

He said it was a dream job, and timing wasn't right. To me timing wasn't right screams they couldn't come to an agreement.

I agree I mean I could get on here and say I am a nephew to a booster who pays big money, and he was in a boosters meeting about how much they could afford to pay Gruden/buyouts and such, and timeline of events....you wold think I knew something also until what I said was BS......am I lying now or did I tell the truth knowing you would think it was a lie....??

I'm in on Gruden until someone else steps up to the podium. I do think there is some disinformation being put out for various reasons.

That being said, this has all the feel of 2012. The video I seen of Currie after the game did not give me the impression of a man with a big fish on the line. I'm starting to wonder if we will have to google our next coach. If so, I wish him all the best but I'll have to see results on the field to get excited.

Clay Travis (take this how you will) said Gruden was contacted and the issue was never money, it was:

1. He wanted to be wooed, told how awesome he was, etc.

2. Wanted a level of control that UT didn’t want to relinquish.

So ultimately, he was never offered.

Edit: Saban wanted those same things except Bama gave them to him, how did that work out? 🤔

He's just got to understand he has to share you with all the Grude people in this world.

Just toss him the ATM card and let him go to ladies night. I'd suggest him wearing a cowgirl boots with his dress though. Classy look that is.

Over the 50 years (starting going in 1965) I have been going to UT games I have made hundreds of friends that are fans of Tennessee and much closer to many in the athletic department than even I am. That is the reason I don't have to stay plugged into the AD as much anymore. I rarely have to call people for information. Lot of people contact me and keep me up to date.



I have many friends in the media. Hubbs, Lewis, Brice, Rucker, Low, Callahan to name a few. Have known most several years and some a decade or more.



Was close with Coach Fulmer and assistants on his staff for several years. Still communicate with coach. Know many players and their families going back to the early 90s. Stay in contact with many.



I never post anything from a single source. Has to be more than one and those sources independent of each other. I have posted things in the last 20 years that UT has called me about. Multiple times. Stuff they didn't like.

My husband was an actual cowboy out west before I knew him. He'd likely wear cowboy boots, but they certainly wouldn't be pink.

Hey UTVinE! Just curious, why does hearing the numbers bother you? We’re you told if someone mentions numbers they aren’t legit or is it just a pet peeve? Not being a jerk, just wondering...
