ok came to Tuscaloosa to tailgate with my cousin(Bama fan) and his family on the Quad. we didn't get tickets but we got the tv out and everything. Quad is still full of fake bama fans that are just talking and chatting with no tv's. They are not even watching the game. Some dont even know what the score is. Bama has the fakest fanbase I have ever seen in my life. Maybe I think different cause if Vols are playing im finding a tv not chit chatting like a social event

Who were the people that confirmed he’d be fired/resigned after today? Not to call them out, just curious.

Agreed. I think the rumors of him being is just that... Rumors...bs if you will..

Tennessee is his dream job. The timing is perfect. Awesome talent.. I think we have a top 25 recruiting class again?

I honestly am not sure if a coach is lined up yet, I hope but with all the confusion and different people posting different things today I think Gruden made still be negotiating

Not sure how I pissed you off. I appreciated your info. My gif was related to wanting Scott Frost if Gruden is not the guy. JAV has now posted he will be who we target next.

Going out on a limb here, based upon a theory of a sharp lady in here ... Butch coaches KY game, the next Friday night Gruden finishes the season with his sons football team, The following Monday the job has been open for about a week, we announce Gruden.

Smokescreen, cloaks, daggers, til then.
Sounds good to me.

If his answer is "no", it's not like Currie would ever acknowledge we were even going after him and Gruden isn't going to hold a press conference to say "no thanks" either. Seems to me like it would just start to trickle out like this and eventually to our horror our new non Gruden coach is named.

And the "he can't turn down a job that isn't open" doesn't hold water to me either. Technically, this is true.. but obviously he can back out of the back channel negotiations even if we don't technically have an opening.

I can tell you that I learned this morning that Gruden has said no for the second time this week and Tennessee will now move on to other candidates. I would look for Scott Frost as the leading candidate

i get that "there isnt an opening at UT" so we would not hear a no or a yes....

that is elementary...just more ish on the board.

however it is equally ish to believe that Currie and or his people have not "communicated" with other persons who represent certain other persons who may or may not be football coaches who may or may not be interested in a potential opening at a D1 power conference school in Tennessee not named Vanderbilt but said school currently has a coach who may or may not be released terminated or otherwise disposed of, in order to gauge the interest of those persons who may or may not be interested in such a position in the event that said position became available.

If not Gruden, UT cannot afford to get this wrong. They have to hit a home run on this hire.

That's my point. Waiting until UK makes zero sense unless something is in the works. If that game is circled as the date, then there has to be a reason.
