I've been trying to keep the mood upbeat here in the Gruden Thread, but it's depressing sitting here in my local watering hole surrounded by Bammers. The game is on 4 TV's, and the Bammers aren't even watching the game. Bama just scored again, and I didn't hear a single clap or "Row Tahd!"

They don't even care that they're beating us guys. This has to change.

I'm watching on my phone. We cancelled cable 15 minutes after the end of the SC game.

I can't even console myself with an adult beverage --I have grandson babysitting shift tonight. Need to unload some adrenaline before terrifying the poor thing

This is the same AD that uses gas station fax machines though...there is no telling what he is or isn’t doing. I’m not saying we are getting gruden but it wouldn’t surprise me for him to be releasing bad info directly or indirectly for a variety of reasons.

Earlier in this thread someone said a trusted insider on TOS was saying the opposite.

Someone posted several pages back that the most trusted insider on SECRant said Gruden to TN is a done deal. Can't remember the guys name. It was right after JAV made his post.

Sitting here watching this craptacular performance and came back to the Gruden thread for a pick me up and things seem to have taken a dive....this sucks. Makes me even more mad at Butch, Mike Hamilton, booger, Haslams, Jones, Thunder...pretty much anyone that had a hand in letting Tennessee Football sink to the level that we are at today. I wish I didn’t even like football anymore.

I think we all need some perspective:

Even the very top "insiders" on here and elsewhere are receiving third-hand information. No major boosters are on here leaking information directly, meaning that guys like JAV are getting their information from the booster friends they have while playing golf, smoking cigars, or having some drinks. And the information that those boosters are giving is coming from the AD itself. So what does this mean?


1. All information the insiders receive is coming through 3 filters before reaching us.

• The AD's filter.
• The booster's filter.
• The insider's filter.

2. Unless the booster is one of the top-level donors, we can't garuntee that the information they are receiving is accurate.

• Let's be real here. Currie isn't keeping 150 donors in the know. There are probably only a dozen or so people who are truly receiving up to date accurate information as it happens.

3. Special emphasis needs to be placed on the "booster's filter". It's very easy for someone (especially one with a bit of clout) to matter-of-fact say "Well of course we're not going to get him" or "Yeah it's in the works" because they truly believe that this is the way things should happen and will happen. Doesn't mean it's reality.
