... in his last 6 NBA Finals games going back to the Laker/Piston series in 2004 (52 for 139).

Yeah, the best since Jordan. He sucks alright.
He certainly does not look anywhere near as clutch as Jordan was. There is a pretty significant fall off between him and Jordan.

you might look back at LA's three most recent championships before deciding how clutch he isn't.

81 of 201 over his last 9 NBA Finals games...
that's 40% and he has played 2 much tougher defensive teams than Jordan ever played in a finals. I'm not saying he's better than Jordan, but the differences aren't very big, as you suggest.

That was me who said there was a significant drop off. You may be correct in that there is better def played in todays game. Bottom line is with the game on the line and one final shot left to win the game who would you rather have taking it Jordan or Kobe? Jordan and its not even close.

I'd rather have Jordan, but it's much closer for me than you suggest. I'd probably prefer Bird or Magic over either of them.

Sure, as long as they don't call the offensive foul.

Kobe is a consistant 40-45% shooter up to this stage of his career. By age 29 for Jordan, he had won his 3peat and was constistently shooting over 50% from the field.

he did not stay above 50% and you should check the shooting relative to the league as a whole, rather than in a vacuum. Jordan's high % years, there were hordes in the same range.

I clearly stated when he was 29 years old (same age as Kobe), it was routinely above 50%. His career shooting average didn't drop below 50% until he started playing with the Wizards (49.7%)
