I really like him and think he could do great things here. I'd put him at 2 behind Gruden.

I hate to agree with you Doyle. He would make it his life mission to beat Saban imo. But he burnt bridges and sucked at USC. Maybe he has grown up some who knows

I don’t know that’s why I asked. It has been posted that UT being a state school the job opening has to be posted for 30 days. So I would assume that you can’t name a new coach during that time even if you already know who it is. Soon

That question came up the last hire. I believe it was said that the 30 day period was waved for head coaches.

Probably in the top 4 of all current NCAA coaches. If Gruden turns us down he would do well to come to UT (don't think he will) and prove himself in the SEC. That would remove doubt of him being a great coach or not based on the conferences he has coached in.

someone will say something this evening to give everyone hope...then it will all come crashing down again later tonight.

that's just how this thing is working at the moment.

A 3-3 coach in Conference USA whose overall winning percentage is almost identical to Butch. This place should go into utter revolt if we hire a coach with that kind of record.

When I think of a saban hire, I take it as somebody who can come in and compete for championships on a yearly basis, and I'm not talking every three years or so after senior classes leave and freshman come in. Nobody reloads better than saban does and I think Peterson is that same type of coach. JMO though. I'd be happy with Patterson to, frost is still a mystery to me. Obviously gruden would be on the same level but I get the feeling him saying No is gonna come out being true

IMO, if we don't get Gruden, it's either Petersen or Patterson. Anything other than that will be a huge disappointment (I didn't include Kelly because he's more than likely headed back to the PAC 12

UCF was working on giving him a raise which would increase his buyout also. Don't know if they did it yet but was supposedly in the works
