4 hours ago everyone was ready to lynch the guy, and an hour after that everyone was all apologies and make up kisses. This lot is about as bi-polar and gullible as it gets and hundreds (thousands?) of posts flood out the second an “insider” posts ellipses or bread-crumb vagueness that amounts to nothing. If anyone with a 10k+ post count says “it’s done” or “boom” people lose their damn minds and the firework gifs start flowing.

We’ve been here before and not a person here was truly reliable when it came to any sort of rumor regarding Gruden or our last coaching search. Everyone was updating Twitter and watching ESPN as Jones was rolling into Knoxville while losing their collective minds on this forum praying it was fake. But again, short memories I guess.

You and a lot of other people are missing the point, this thread is about hope for a better day and some fun along the way. These guys bring hope and nothing more. This isn't life or death. This thread is about good times and a belief that the Vols will be back to where we used to be and with some good luck and Jon Gruden it just might happen.

We’ve all had to deal with Butch’s Vols this year, let’s stick together.

Absolutely not. The dude got exposed about as badly as one can. It’s a stressful time being a sports fan during a coaching transition, and when a long-shot homerun hire has any kind of plausibility (even if it’s less than 1%) feeding into that, and making the masses even more anxious, with outright lies and fabrications is a despicably low thing to do. He can kick rocks.

I don't disagree. I was specifically talking about myself and the one person on the board I've actually stayed in touch with in real life. The accusations are ridiculous. I ended up being wrong last time...hung around, took my lumps. I'm a stand-up dude. I've never lied or falsified anything, but my integrity is questioned because of what another anonymous face on a message board does.

If you're coming to a fan message board for factual information, you're going to be disappointed most of the time. The Gruden thread is just about having a good time.

I think you have tried to give good info that you get. The info exchanged at the game is why people are putting you in with him now.
