Don’t be naive. I would be shocked and disappointed if significant back channel work hasn’t already been done. It might not be Gruden, but Currie would be criminally negligent to be sitting on his hands.

Due diligence vetting of a list of names (it's a good list!) has begun. Back channel communications with Gruden have also taken place, that's what led to the "bumps" with AD folks over the weekend.

Hey man, it conflicts with what I was told. You have no clue how bad I want my news to be bad!

Hahaha I know. I was just playing around. The reason I asked was because I was kind of coming up with a theory in my mind.

One dinner was a dinner with his son's fraternity friends. No way he talks about becoming the next coach in front of or around a but of college frat guys.

One dinner was a smaller crowd of possibly influential people to gauge interest. Which is where the fact that he's searching for a house and talk about Cindy wanting to be closer to her family was discussed.

Then CBJ fails to give Kelly the ball on the final play AGAIN and Currie gets frustrated and schedules a breakfast with Gruden the next morning at Cherokee.

They have breakfast where nothing solid but more of a "what would it take"/"What if we offered you what you wanted last time" type conversation took place.

Gruden left and started mulling it over. Began to think more about it and "possibly" has reached out to potential staff members.


Just a theory and probably wrong. But......Soon.

JMO, but I believe AD proxies were with Gruden at Cherokee in the morning, and the bump with Currie occurred in the evening.

Again, still doesn't line up with what I was told about that day. Could it be possible? Sure. But I don't think Currie would send anyone there and I certainly don't think he was there himself.

I'm not naive. I believe feelers and back channel work is being done. But I also believe our Hc has to be fired first. Then the excitement on our new hire can get real.
