I don't think you understand me, Currie is the puppet of an administration that I have grown to loathe. He can only do what they let him do when it comes to this hire. I don't really have any animosity towards him, just the people who chose him. Maybe his ability will allow him to be successful and do great things despite the albatross of the loser UT administration. That would be awesome to me.

Even if the admins are hellbent on not letting us get a good hire, they might accidentally let Currie hire a home run in Frost. He probably looks like another churn and burn 5-year hire to them.

Understand. Just wanted to make it clear that I think Frost is a fantastic, up and comer. Of all the non-P5 coaches mentioned, I think he comes with the least risk.

Yep. If we go beyond those four we're in trouble.

Brohm is probably my next call but I'm a bit wary of him. Could be another Jim McElwain but without the Will Muschamp defense carrying him for two years.

Starting to think Venables isn't an option and not sure I want a coordinator at this point.

I was not all that excited when Currie was hired but I've seen nothing to this point that says he's not doing a great job. This hire will define his legacy. People seem to be frustrated because he's not fired Butch yet. I've yet to see a good reason to pull the trigger (publicly) at this point.

If he's somehow able to pull all the parties together, boosters, board, administration, and make a grand slam hire, he'll be a super hero in my eyes. I think it will be an almost impossible task. I'm pulling for him.

This is pretty much how I feel too, except I think having the walking dead as coach at this point is dumb. I think the team would be able to perform better without Butch Jones around, so I totally disagree on that point. I really don't want to lose eight this year.

What is making you include Currie in “sorry administration”. He handled the baseball coaching search beautifully. Brought back lady Vols which a lot of people like. And everything he does is completely on lock down.

I like him. Got confidence in our AD for really the first time in my adult life.

We had conversations before and after church today and no one knew who Frost was-I said you soon will. He will be a winner and schools who passed over him or didn't extend an offer will be kicking themselves. Would I rather have Gruden of course! But Frost would be a big hire and I would show my thanks to the AD $. They screw up again, I'm done as are many others.

I’m just saying there is absolutely nothing negative that Currie has done so far except not being the fan choice. If Fulmer came in and did the exact same things Currie has done so far. People would have multiple statues built already. From the little I’ve actually been around John and all I’ve heard he is 100% business.

It is why I would rather have Frost than Kelly or Patterson. Who would you rather hire, Urban just entering his prime when he was hired at UF, or Spurrier coming back from the NFL?
