It's fun to think about the potential staff that Gruden would bring in here. It'd be my guess that it would instantly be the best staff in college football, other than Alabama's.

Barrett Sallee's article that states if we keep CBJ much longer he could become a sympathetic figure is hilarious to me. Jones isn't Les Miles or Phillip Fulmer, both of whom won national championships and rightly had the love and support of a lot of fans.

He needs to go but for other reasons. No chance in hell CBJ becomes a sympathetic figure like Miles. I appreciate what Jones has done but it's time to go.

If Dobbs would have got that redshirt year and Debord would have returned this season, what would our record be right now? 🤔

I'm glad that didn't happen because we would have another years worth of fool's gold tricking us into thinking Butch Jones could actually coach.

Its good for this program that Butch Jones was exposed this year. We need to move on from him and hire a real coach rather than a gym teacher (as Colin Cowherd said).

Saw a comedian talk about us. Showed a picture of the trash can and said "they literally told us how this season was going to go against GT".

Some of the names in that subject’s article didn’t particularly impress. Liked the Hardy Nickerson name. The OL coach is always a key hire and they picked some NFL assistant OL coach with a lot of consonants Braggdanvickich or something.

I think the crux of what's getting to everyone is that we have talent on this offense. JG, John Kelly, Brandon Johnson and Marquez Callaway are more than enough to score a damn TD. I've seen it done with less. And yet we can't get it done.

Unlike most of you I disagree that the problem is scheme. It's the damn play calling. The scheme itself is fine, it's quite flexible and has been different under each OC, but the calls we're getting this season blow donkey balls.

I think that ultimately that was the fault of choosing QD and Scott adapting to pro-style concepts while still trying to learn spread concepts. I think QD was chosen early and the offense was adapted to him but when QD failed to meet expectations the hodge-podge offense that was crafted out of pro and spread concepts was left a mess.

I hope we stick with JG and go back to an offense similar to what Debo ran. JG fits that perfectly, especially as Debo was adept at mixing in pro and spread concepts. We'd see a lot of the shots downfield Dobbs took last year. Ironically, if you look at the numbers we let QD pass more than all other SEC teams save one. There's no reason not to loosen the reins on JG now and allow him to learn, grow, and develop.

We literally have nothing to lose this season. If the coaches care about these kids, and I think they do, they need to focus on letting them develop. They know it's the end of the line for themselves but they can (and some will) keep doing good by the players.

Butch would have left if we went 9-3 this season, It would have been good for us imo

Haslam agrees

Davenport and DiPietro concur.

“Scott Satterfield continues to take App State football to new heights,” director of athletics Doug Gillin said in the release. “In four seasons at App State, he has orchestrated one of the most successful transitions to FBS football and continues to build App State football for long-term sustainable success on a national level. ... As strong as Scott's on-field success has been at App, he also continues to raise the bar for our football program's performance in the classroom and its involvement in the community.

"Our last two football recruiting classes have averaged a 3.5 GPA, and we just achieved our highest fall semester GPA under Scott's leadership. Scott is truly building our program the right way.”

Hire. This. Man. Right. Now!

If we keep our GPA up, we can go bowling even at 5-7 every year!

On the bright side, Ryan Callahan basically saide this this morning:

He said many of the commits really want to come to Tennessee and not so much for Butch. He said that's why we haven't seen more decommits at this point. He said many are taking a wait and see approach.

This is incredible if true. Typically recruits get mad when the coach that has been recruiting them all this time is possibly let go. These guys seem to want it to happen and still go to UT. Just goes to show Butch Jones isn't the recruiter people try to make him out to be. Tennessee recruits for itself.

Lets get a real coach in here that will actually let our players play up to their talent level.
