DC: Lovie Smith. He is sucking it up at Illinois and was the DB's coach at UT in the 90's. Helped build the defense in Tampa that Gruden won a superbowl with.

OC: ??? Who will be Gruden's OC? Probably someone who has worked him a lot in the past, but not someone high profile b/c it will be Gruden's offense.

It rhetorical. Gruden thread isn't about just Gruden. It's about the AD doing the right thing. Dooley and Jones were not the right hires. Kiffin you can argue was. Btw, LSU did beat Auburn yesterday.

Hiring Kelly or Gruden, would scare other SEC teams. UT would be the talk of the town and recruits would love to be coached by someone that could get them to the league. They could develop the players, something the current coach can't do.

Don't get crazy with the cheese whiz here. I'm referring to the program as a whole. Don't start reading into what I'm posting as if it has some alternate meaning or getting into semantics.

Now, having said that to ask this. What will set him apart from Hamilton or Hart? Making a solid hire that gets UT back into the championship talk? Or yet another budget hire that keeps us at 7-9 wins a year?

So, by saying "he" I'm asking if HE'S yet another iteration of UT AD that does little more than save a buck or two by not hiring a top level candidate.
