Because he's exhausted standing in front of 100s and talking to thousands pretending all is well and spouting out fake words. Probably can't stand it and does not want to be associated with what's about to happen Sat.

Currie probably strong armed him and said look I'm not making a move till year end and he said well I'll take what I'm owed after the season if you let me peace now.

So instead of 8.5M u get 7M and save 7 weeks of total hell.

Husband just texted. said he's called our pilot and is leaving Knoxville. He said he spoke his mind, using his I guess renowned colorful language, and the rest is up to the others. He seemed pretty upset, but I can't be sure. He keeps the Tennessee football side of things pretty tight, just like he does other things. I don't know if that means anything to you guys or not. My husband can be hard to read sometimes. Ok. Most of the time.

Bass I just read your post from earlier- I'm glad you are okay!! Hoping this news about Butch resigning is true. It is hurting everyone the longer Butch remains head coach period. The Patterson tidbit seemed a little off in left field- did Gruden turn us down I guess?

I could see that, but also think Butch and Sexton would easily call Currie's bluff there. Currie starts taking heat soon for leaving Butch twisting in the wind, and both Butch and Sexton know that.

I would imagine Sexton has advised Butch to not take any negotiated buyouts. He knows that he may have only one more week on the job and the full buyout coming his way.
