1. Venables - this guy has energy and I think he's the next Smart.
2. Cooter - I think this would be a solid hire.
3. Durkin/Frost/Brohm (or insert another mid-major here) - likely route UT takes based on recent experience.

Grumors are just silly. He is NOT leaving MNF for a pay cut and the grind and pressure of being a major college football HC.

I purchase sports apparel from a guy that grew up (childhood) with Venables and is still very close to him. We had a meeting Friday about some new sportswear, and during that meeting we got to talking about UT, coaches, etc...

He said Brent Venables is not going to leave Clemson anytime soon and he's dead set on NOT becoming a HC. Doesn't want the responsibility and his family is very comfortable right where he is....$1.7M.
