article on Rivals saying he has dream offer..I know we offered him not too long ago...maybe he is talking about us..

says he had to stop himself from committing over the wkend. Says 85% sure he's going to be a vol, but he wants to make his other official visits. Says we were the dream offer.

He could be a pretty good SS. After watching him on the Nike Camp video from Chapel Hill, I think it's safe to say they didn't recruit him to be a corner.

Why are we going after all of these 3 stars? Can we not land some higher rated guys? I mean, c'mon a few is alright but not the whole class.

I'm being serious. I can understand that we can't have all 4 and 5 star prospects, and I know some kids who are rated lower end up being better than some, but if we want to compete with GA and UF we need to get higher rated prospects at the skill positions. I know lineman are hard to evaluate so that doesn't really bother me, but c'mon...we are UT.

Ugh, I am so tired of the star ratings talk.

1st off, he hasn't even played his senior year, so he could turn out to be a 4* or even a 5* player.

2nd off, I've seen plenty of 3* players who have kicked some ass in college. So, please so putting these guys who work their asses off and want to come play for Tennessee on a lower level than everyone else

I would take a 3* who has dreamed of playing for UT and is willing to do anything to win than a 5* who only thinks of himself and can't think of anything but making it pro

WE would be locked up for safety if we got this guy. we all ready have Oliver..
both are good sized, athletic safeties!

think of the possible secondary we could have with this class....Oliver, Swearinger, Gordon, Gilmore, hopefully Darren Myles...

sounds good to me

Valid first point. To answer the others, would you rather have Eric Berry starting in your secondary or Antonio Gaines?

thats a stupid argument. Eric Berry is a once in a decade player. would you rather have LaMarcus Coker or Steve Slaton in your backfield? answer me that..

I'm not trying to compare Eric Berry to anyone, that's not fair.

Like Volsguy said, he is a once in a lifetime player. I just know we don't get a lot of guys in here that actually have dreamed of playing for UT. This guy dreams of playing for UT and that makes him just as good as a 5* player to me

Can we all agree that the higher they are rated, then the more likely they are to be a successful football player?

yea, we can agree on that. I'm just saying..It doesn't always work out. Their going to miss on star rankings..every year..I think we should just be happy with the guys we get. We're not gonna know how they perform till they get on the field.

South Carolina, Auburn, and Michigan offered him before us.
I watched one of his videos and he is extemely quick coming up against the run.

I understand the frustration of not getting 4* or 5* caliber players. Until we prove something on the field this year, we're not going to get too many. However, I tend to notice a trend, all the players we're interested in have at least 3.0 or better GPA. Perhaps if rivals or scout include intelligence or IQ ratings, we may very well have 4* or 5* players already.
