This about the only list of coaches I'd be excited about at this point and be confident we were going to take this program at least 1 step further to consistent contention and top 15ish in the country year in and out (where our expectations should be IMO).

Gruden
Kelly
Patterson
Mullen
Fuente
Stoops
Franklin

If it's not one of these 7 I'll be very skeptical it won't hover about where it's been the past 4 seasons on average (including this one 6-6 to 9-3)

Call me negative right now but with UGA getting on track, BAMA still rolling, UF possibly going for a HR in the next couple years I am buying that we need someone elite to contend. I think this job isn't as easy as a lot of y'all think.

Hope the AD gets it done because need some sustained success to get our reputation back before it's lost for good.

Add Taggart and Frost.

NCAA is so unpredictable. They basically have their programs they will never do anything to because of $ and they have programs that they will crush for much less.

Bama - nope not until Saban leaves.

Ky - nope not until calipari is gone

UNC - nope because of basketball. Can't have NCAA ball without Duke and UNC in tourney

On your way to a natty like Auburn during Cam mess - nope too much money at stake

Oh you BBQ some ish tonight Bruce? Gtfo 5 yr show cause and eventually FBI will murk you at your next stop.

Preach it. Lots of truth here.

Everyone I know who regularly go to games have been trying to sell them on various social media sites. Noon kickoff is a big factor too imo.

Everyone got pumped to go and Checker Neyland then got their nose rubbed in it. That's going to linger.

Noon games always bring issues with team energy and fan energy. Just hope we pull out the W. Probably be ugly but just win.

Looks like we won't have a night in game in Neyland til November. Not even a guarantee then either.

North Carolina just avoided any punishment from their cheating scandal if anyone still thought the NCAA was worth anything at all.

I wish I could like this post a gazillion times. :clapping:

Aren't you one of the main "how dare he not run on the 1"

I am and anyone who thinks it's good coaching to pass all SEVEN plays inside the 9 is very foolish and just looking to either argue or make excuses. Nobody said NEVER throw in goal to go situations, just don't do it SEVEN times with ZERO runs in a close game with a shaky QB and WRs and the best RB in the SEC on your team.

Can't believe I got sucked back into this asinine argument again.

Lot of folks in the ncaa gettin paid a whole lot of money to keep the gravy train rollin.

In any situation just ask yourself how it would impact ratings and merchandise sales and you'll have your answer.

You'd think with the recent FBI investigation into basketball- the UNC situation would grab their attention. Run a fake university no problem! As long as you are one of our favorite schools.

I think Ole Miss gets a whooping from the NCAA.

Agreed.

I am actually glad the NCAA didn't get involved with the academic side of things. If a school wants to cheapen their degree by offering "easy" classes as Long as all students can take them which seems to be the case it's their business.

$ changing hands is what the ncaa needs to be worried about like Ole Miss IMO.

Heard on the radio yesterday that a lot of the students won’t be at the game. A guy called in and said his son who goes to UT and is in a frat is coming home instead of going to the game and said most of his frat is boycotting. Really think the stadium will be <90k.

Smart kids. I don't know why anyone would support the administration as they continue to trot Butch Jones out there.

Fans need to realize that if you keep packing stadiums even after a 41-0 annihilation, you are endorsing a mediocre product.

The only to force change as a fan is to not show up to the games. Then the clowns that run the Tennessee football program will realize we are not gonna keep spending our money on a mediocre product. But as long as you keep packing the stadium, they won't make a move. Money is the only thing these people understand.

To my surprise and disbelief, Gruden actually is in Knoxville today in market square per David Cobb. Could be here for a hundred reasons, get the Grumors fired up.
