1. Chip Kelly
2. Everybody else

IMO its Chip Kelly or bust. He's a proven winner (4 Pac 12 titles in 4 years and 1 trip to the National Title Game). He can develop QBs (see Marcus Mariota). He even had more success in the NFL than Nick Saban (led the Eagles to the playoffs in year 1).

If we land Chip Kelly, we'll win MULTIPLE national titles.

Mark Kelly off the list

Chip Kelly - Not going to happen. Wouldn't succeed in the SEC, and he doesn't like to recruit.
Jeff Brohm - Took over a Petrino built WKU in a weak conference. Yes, Purdue is looking better, but they would have been hard pressed to look worse. Lost by 18 to a young Michigan team that beat Florida's worst team in years (according to you all) and got beaten by a Louisville team that was in turn throttled by Clemson. Not saying he isn't or won't be good, but I think it's too soon to put all your eggs in the Brohm basket.
Bobby Petrino - Good coach, but for the sake of morals and values and self-dignity and self-respect, no.
Mike Norvell - Took over a Justin Fuente Memphis. They're slightly above average in a weak conference. Like Brohm, may be an up and comer but too soon to really say. Seems like a good offensive mind and can develop QBs, but don't you folks want a stout Tennessee defense, with a defensive minded coach? I would be OK with this hire, but it's a risk and could turn out to be a flop. Big difference between Memphis and Tennessee.
PJ Fleck - Butch Jr.
Bob Stoops - Proven winner.
Tee Martin - No HC experience? Already spurned TN once.
Les Miles - Past his prime. Bad clock management. About as good at developing offenses as Butch.
Jim Bob Cooter - No HC experience? Name alone makes him worthy imo and could prove to be an excellent hire, but just like with others, a big risk.
Dan Mullen - Currently makes more than Butch with a whole lot less stress in Starkville.
Brian Kelly - Butch Sr.
Peyton Manning - Pipe Dream
Lane Kiffin - Shoot yourself.

All this being said, I fully expect Tennessee to be Tennessee. Meaning, 1) either Butch isn't going anywhere, 2) we appoint Shoop or Hoke as HC, or 3) we go with Jason Candle from Toledo.

Someone else mentioned DJ Durkin - I'd be okay with that also.

My hope/recommendation? Throw the bank at Stoops first and then Gary Patterson.

I get everyone wanting this guy that guy...he is a proven head coach. How did those guys become head coaches? They paid their dues being coordinators. People keep saying Tee didn’t want to be here before, any idea why? Why did Jay Graham leave? Look around now! Bring someone that would actually CARE about the future of the program.

Anyone that says Tee or Jim Bob would be bad hires be so they have never been a head coach is only looking for a quick fix, a band aid. Cause that is all it will be if we hire a Chip Kelly type. I know he has scored a ton of points in the past. But that’s what it is, the past. No guarantees he is close to the same coach. Spurrier never got his edge back. What says Kelly would?
Honestly I think I would be ok with getting Chip Kelly as Spurrier USC edition. Not to mention he is a lot younger

IMO if we don't reach out to Kelly and offer 6M then Currie should be fired as well. If Kelly doesn't want to come here or counters with something ridiculous like 8-9M then so be it, look elsewhere, but we absolutely have to try.

You apparently don't realize that's not Curries responsiblity. He doesn't get to that he's the messenger. Others make that decision. You have posted a lot of crap the last week or so bout time you get exposed

I wish we could get Patterson but i dont think he will come now. I am a big fan of him and he begged UT for the job when Fulmer left. Now i have heard that he has built a house and that his wife is a professor at TCU. He also doesnt have to worry at TCU that if he has a bad season he will be fired . He wont leave TCU in my opinion.

All this coaching search talk is futile. The AD and boosters have the wrong mindset. Nick Saban is to college coaching what Tiger Woods was to golf when Tiger was in his prime. You're not going to beat Saban at his game (out-recruiting and out-coaching) with the offensive style he plays. So what do you do? You have to be innovative and change the landscape of football.

There's one consistency in college football that doesn't make sense. Well, more than one but the biggest is putting most of the recruiting and coaching responsibilities on one person. It's too difficult to find a coach who excels at both coaching and recruiting, so why not have 1 or 2 good recruiters who do just that, vacate the HC spot and and have 2 co-HC spots (offsensive and defensive coordinator). That way they run their own show and it eliminates any conflict between HC and coordinator.

After that I would change how the game is played. Spurrier was an innovator with his fun 'n gun in the 90s. Then later other coaches came up with the spread option. Why not go after someone like Kevin Kelley at Pulaski Academy in Arkansas or at least adopt his philosophies? It's well worth looking into in my opinion.

Is no one going to throw Scott Frost's name in the hat? He'll end up at Nebraska, but its worth a phone call.
