the scary thing about this potential coaching search--- we are built for this.... Fulmer, Kiffin, Fooley, Butch, .... dang, we are seasoned. Is there another upper tier program who's gone through this many coaches recently?

Would be 5 coaches in 10 seasons if the new guy is hired before the 2017 season officially ends.

Seems like a great kid. Hasn't complained or caused trouble over switching positions, lack of playing time, etc. Hope he keeps getting better and having fun.

Set up for a big hire, end up with a meh hire. One year later and everybody is on the Sunshine train.

I agree. There's no guarantee we will hire one. I will go on record as saying that I think Butch is done. I think that he has taken us as high as he can, and that's disappointing because he recruits well enough to take us higher. I just hope when it is time that the administration does not settle again.

Ever heard of the marshmallow experiment? It's evident to me and many others that butch will never be a championship coach here. How does butch not win a bad SEC east with 6 NFL draft players? How does he keep failing to develop competitive depth? Why do we always have so much drama? Why did he divide the entire locker room for one player (JG) by making up a fake QB competition and then not even play the player you divided the locker room for!? The list of questions goes on and on. I love this program. I'll take the loss now so we can go ahead and start looking for someone who can take this program back to a level we all know it can be at. Short term pain for later success. If butch wins he is only delaying the inevitable.

Maybe butch proves me wrong and we win vs Georgia and finish 10-2 with a loss to bama. I just really don't think that will happen though. The sooner we get into the chip Kelly sweepstakes the better. Jmo. We both want what's best for Tennessee but have different ideas on how to get there

I think that Butch is done. I just don't think it is necessary to pull for a loss to speed it along. It will work itself out. If Kelly gets hired while Butch is still coaching this year, he likely was not going to coach here, anyway. Thanks for remaining reasonable when I let my emotions get the best of me.

Who is Rick Lamb?

Edit: PGA golfer who went to UT. He has made 8 out of 19 cuts apparently. Still, he made 500K so there's that. I personally don't really care what he thinks about our coach.

Heard a rumor that Mack Crowder punched him in the stomach after he started dating Butch's cousin's daughter, casuing him to fall backwards onto Nigel Warriror's helmet, who got pissed and clocked Shy Tuttle. TIFWIW.

I've been thinking this also. Pair that with Uga vs UT is always close. Vegas wants ppl to bet on Uga.

It is when they are ranked and had a good amount of hype after destroying Lsu. Plus, the Uga fanbase has been starving for a big win like that. Even according to smart it was

I had a fairly long conversation with a player's mom today. Nice lady who I have known for just a little bit. No big inside information because that is not what it is about. Just how big he is getting and how nice some of the players are ect. Biggest thing I got out of it was how the media and fans should stay out of the kids personal business. How we trash kids who are playing a game. Made me think. I do not want to trash a kid. You can have an opinion on who should start and play ect but the kids need our support. I have been hard on QD and at 20, he's the same age as my child. Put a few things in perspective for me.

These kids want to do well and when they fail, we can give our opinions but no more trashing them. As a parent, it really does make sense. You guys can do what you want but I am going to pull and support these kids. I do get a sense that the kids do like QD and he is respected by the team. Go Vols
