Ironically, UF fans are just as vocal against McElwain as UT fans are against CBJ. UF won. They were never behind. This is McElwain's third year at UF. It's CBJ's fifth at UT. And McElwain is 2-1 against CBJ.

UT fans aren't all that unreasonable. CBJ's performance would have already gotten him fired at UF-- probably after SCAR or Vandy last year.

Exactly. We can't settle anymore. We are an elite program. It's time to hire someone who can take us back to the top.

But that doesn't mean other places are willing to spend it, and every place won't have an opening. We may not be in either boat, but once again, it's an overstated argument. Of all of the potential places with openings after this year, there'd probably be five or fewer schools he would consider. You're not competing with everyone.

He's not gonna command $6-7million. His salary wouldn't be that much higher than what Butch is currently making. He's gonna end up making somewhere between 3.5 and 5 million dollars. Any school willing to spend that can have him if that's where he chooses to go.

Like I said, it's not about money. Dan Mullen will cost more than Chip Kelly but I think DM is much more likely than Chip. Not convinced we will be in play there either though.

We are probably firing Holly this year and we just hired a new baseball coach. Think that has any effect on Butch?

I think you are underestimating the market for Kelly. And he's certainly not going to take less to be altruistic. The 4 or 5 schools that will be in play for him will have a bidding war. He's not like Petrino, where he needs a "rehabilitation stop."

We won't be bidding.

Y'all really think this administration will pony up the big money to hire a top end coach?

I doubt it. I'm fairly bearish that Butch won't be the coach in 2018, but if he moves on, that's why I don't think we get someone like Kelly.

I am fairly certain that this administration will go the bargain route again. It'll be some G5 coach we will have to google or an average coordinator who will get their first shot at being a head coach. When I say administration, I don't mean Currie. Currie will probably try to swing for the fences but the higher ups and boosters will shut him down. They have no desire to bring this program back to its former glory. We just have to cross our fingers that we get lucky.

Why would our AD fire Butch and hire expensive when we have one of the most profitable programs in the NCAA?

If it's joe moorehead or frank Wilson I won't be upset. Although Moorehead was a HC once at some fcs school and will be a hot name for teams needing a HC.

Ten yards off WR's, zone coverage every time, few blitzes mixed In.

I predict an ugly game with lots of booing

They have already given up 20+ sacks. I'm hoping our DL tees off in them and gains a little confidence. We need to be much more disruptive up front.

Then go big or go home. Offer Gruden 8-10 million year. Make him the highest paid in college football

If he'll come offer him whatever it takes. I'm tired of swimming in mediocrity. When Florida fires Mac they'll probably hire Mullen. We need an elite coach at TN if we want to get back to where we were and where we belong.

I can see Currie wanting excellence but the rest of them up top being content since we turn a profit. It is gonna take a season or so of empty stadiums before they would back Currie's move.

I think the calls for him to be fired will be louder after tomorrows game. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this is going to be an easy game where we see a lot of backups. It feels like it will be a game where we play vanilla and have to play our starters all game.

I hope so, Umass has givin up 8 more sacks than the next closest team. They have already played 4 games but that's still incredibly high. I would love to see 5+ sacks

Probably.

Noon kickoffs are always the slot that you see SEC teams, well really any P5 team play super sloppy. Now add in coming off a heartbreaking loss and Butch always playing vanilla in these games. Not a good combo. Umass hangs around all game and then UT scores late to make it look slightly better is my prediction.

IF we play with some passion and handle them, I'll be pretty optimistic for the Uga game
