If it's true be prepared to have more Dooley like years rebuilding again. The class coming in is the best class in Jones tenure, and without a sure thing hire they will be gone. Did I mention there's not a sure thing hire out there?

Brohm be most difficult to get because of incentives he has in contract. Norvell likely get for a good price and he would love to have job.

Greg Schiano would be the best choice. Recruits would want to play for an ex-NFL head coach.

UTAD will do as always and let Butch slide until the end of the year, Meanwhile a few other schools will fire the coach they have and pony up some big$ and take a some big name coaches. Then when the end of the year comes UTAD will get off there butts fire Jones and hire a mid tear Coach who will be another CBJ, Dooley, Kiffin because the best coaches will be at the schools that ddint wait and we will start the same mess all over again. Thats what we have come to expect from UT.

Lol right. Then you have to add in the pay for the previous assistants. Then you have to get the pay for the new head coach and the new assistants. Easy to say they will pay, when it isn't them paying. Way more than 10 million.

I'll say this, Franklin lost to Pitt last year and Temple the year before. Temple had lost 39 straight to Penn State until they played a James Franklin coached team. TEMPLE. LOST TO TEMPLE.

DJ Durkin is interesting . It would be nice to have a defensive mind as a head coach . when was the last defensive guy that had the HC job here. That goes back longer than me

and to add to my post UT will do this a month before signing day and we will lose every recruit we have just like the last 3 hires.

Butch found a way to accomplish the latter. If Florida had suspended the entire starting team, Butch would still have found a way to choke it away. Maybe not everybody is so accepting of seeing this once proud program be crapped away by an incompetent coach way in over his head. We can hope.

Haslams are the big swinging dong around here. They approved Kiffin, DOOLEY, and Butch. Fans have put this AD at no.2 in the country in revenue, the fans are doing their part. Boosters need to correct their mistakes.

In his 2nd season with a university that had been beaten down and drug through the mud by the worst scandal in college football history and has a roster that suffered through years of NCAA restrictions....And this is shocking? Temple went 10-4 that year btw.

And in his 3rd season they won the BIG10, beat Ohio state, got screwed out of the playoffs and went to the Rose Bowl.

If I'm a fan of Penn state, im honestly not sweating that Temple loss too much. Maybe that's just me.

Butch still has a chance here. If he can turn things around and finish with 7 or more wins and avoid another loss to Vandy he earns another year. While my personal feeling about Butch as head coach aren't great, I'm not sure the administration will commit to paying the right person either. It sometimes feels kind of hopeless being a vol fan doesn't it? Perpetually 3 or 4 years away.

Currie is wanting 104 million dollars in renovations to the stadium. If he expects fans and boosters to support that, wouldn't you think he is going to have to make a big time hire?
